I had a bag of chips with gravy just now, and they were absolutely banging! Proper good and crispy chips, and gravy so tasty that you could almost drink it.

Fish and chips has become so expensive.

A large cod by me is £12 😱

It’s crazy…. Last night in Notts we got a chicken biryani & lamb curry for £8.50.

By comparison I got a huge portion of chips. 2 different portions of kebab meat, gravy, and drinks for £20

There’s so much food that there be leftovers for lunch, and possible beyond.

Greatest value chippy I know of.

Got a chippy tea for the kids last weekend and I pinched a few of their chips to put on a roll. I might have had a nibble on a sausage too

It's going to be at least another year before these prices don't shock me.

Honestly it's insane the price of things now.

I just don't buy half the things I used to like the odd takeaway. Partly because of my budget and partly just on principle of not enjoying the feeling of being totally fleeced.

"When did you last have a take away "

February I think.

"[what] was it and did you enjoy it"

Naga lamb curry with mushroom pilau rice. The rice was OK but I have a feeling the lamb curry was just loaded with green finger chillies and labelled "naga". I know what naga (ghost) chillies taste like and how potent they are - I cannot be fooled so easily ! That is like serving battered pollock and calling it "cod". It really wasn't worth what I paid for it.

"Do you think you enjoy it more now that it costs more 🤔"

No. Where I live the price has been going up but the quality has definitely been going down. That is something that has been very noticeable over the last three years or so no matter where I order from.

I'm just glad I'm a reasonably good cook.

I don’t eat Chinese very often as I don’t digest it very well, but 2 weeks ago I allowed myself deep fried chilli beef, egg fried rice and vegetable spring rolls. Epic.
