Just read that the old wrestler mick mcmanus has passed away today r i p.

I remember watching his battles with les kellet and this got me thinking whether i prefer the oldies or the wrestlemania crew.

The oldies for me any day as i found it more entertaining.

Still watch WWE (as its called now) when I can, but you can't beat the Attitude Era days with DX, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock and Mick Foley.

Definately the World Of Sport wrestling for me...real looking people (well compared to the american stuff), loved the heel/jobber matches.

My nana used to visit us for several weeks during the Summer when I was a kid and the World of Sport wrestling was compulsory viewing.

I loved all the characters - Mick McManus, Jackie Pallo, Adrian Street (my fave), Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks and the elusive Kendo Nagasaki. Classic!

Was a huge fan of WWF and WCW when I was younger.

Too young to really appreciate the Great British era

Newcastle-under-Lyme

There was a documentary on bbc 4 last night about wrestling in the 70s and 80s. It had clips of all the big names. Might be on iPlayer.

I will have a lookie for that...

See whilst you lot were looking at the Attitude era on WWE and WCW and the "NWOE era.... I was watching ECW, which was fantastic.... anywhere you can have the hardcore stuff and the purer wrestling sitting side by side was an amazing time...

anytime "new jacks" music hit... it was just a blast.... and you have to hear some of the promos cut by the then dudley boyz manager joel gertner...

ooooh... just marked out!!!
