I need to talk about the Thursday Murder Club *spoilers*

*SPOILERS* Stop reading unless you’ve read the books or watched the film

My takes.

Still can’t get used to Pierce Brosnan as Ron, but he got the mannerisms right in my head.

Chris was strange, I felt he was portrayed a bit more bumbling in the film than I read in the books

Donna/Joyce/Elizabeth were perfect imo

They really did Bogdan dirty 😭. He’s such a great character and just turned him into sympathetic villain of the week.

There’s much much more, but I’ll be here all day if I added it.

It’s an ok film if you haven’t read the books. it’s Midsommer Murders with an all star cast.

Would’ve been much better as a 4/6 part series, as they condensed everything down way too much.

totally agree on all these points, Pierce is the wrong actor to play Ron, and the characters must be millionaires to live in the most luxurious care home in the world, not what we imagined in the books. If you haven’t read them give them ago.

Felt like a typical Miss Marple with tones of the Famous Five; set in an England that doesn't exist - all too twee and whimsical for me.

Yeah I agree, Bogdan is a great character and they now can't use him if they make any more. Not pleased about that!

I didn't like Chris, which is weird cause I like Daniel Moyes. I didn't like relationship between him and Donna. It seemed warmer in the books.

They did Bogdan dirty. He is quite a big presence in the books, so how he will do that from prison is a concern. If they make another.

I didn’t realise it was a book!!

Just watched it. Great cast but the film writers let it down. I love Celia Imrie as an actress and she never disappoints.
