I wash every item of new clothing before I wear it, except the obvious like shoes, and it is probably not a good idea to pop a new leather jacket in the Hotpoint

I no longer wash clothes or bras when new until I have worn them for that reason. Not that I have ever returned anything...

This is a new phenomena for me. I didn't know people washed brand new clothes before wearing them. Why do you do this ?

Other people have fingered them. The finish on them may be itchy. They smell of packaging.

How strange that I've never heard of this before. I will often buy a garment on a Saturday afternoon and wear it on a Saturday evening.
