At school it was double egg chips and beans with bread and butter to make buttys and mop it up.

We used to order double of each then try to hide something (egg under chips etc) before you paid or just swear that the double of something was single

Happy days indeed

"Mince and Tattie’s all day long "

This! Made by my Granny. She wasn't the best cook but she did this for us and we loved it!

That, and in my early teens I lived on chicken korma, when I wasn't a vegetarian.

"Tasty Lancashire cheese and potato pie with cara_elised onion ( lots) with a layer of tomato in the middle of the pie … "

my mum used to make this when I was young, she was from Lancashire and I'll now be cuuking one this week.

My favourite school meal was chocolate biscuit cake and custard at school (1970s) and curried hard boiled eggs and rice.

My Nan used to make the best homemade chips and serve them with a cremated Birds Eye beef burger and mushy peas. The burger bit sounds appalling now but as a kid it was unbeatable.

Anything on toast, used to love it, beans, spaghetti, ravioli.

I sometimes treat myself to it nowadays too. Except now I go all MasterChef and drizzle some condiments in a fancy pattern over it.
