Mine is psuedonym of guitarist Daevid Allen, who fronted early 70's Canterbury based psychedelic band Gong. Most people probably assume it's a cheesy (whoops!) rhyming name I made up. We have the broad spectrum on here, from very imaginative and amusing to as you have said, cringeworthy.
