Have you bought something used and returned for refund?

I had a tent once, which let us get completely soaked in a rainfall, unlike their claims. No quibble refund.

I hear some clothes retailers have experts sniffing returned clothes - sounds like a job, for a few Fab users - before sending refunds.

I bought a petrol leaf blower once a classic nonsensical impulse buy of mine…

Unboxed it.. filled it up with petrol.. turned it on and the noise it emitted probably rattled a dormant Seismograph to life…. It was about 5 years ago and my ears are still ringing…. Given I had neighbours I quickly shut it down and considered how the fuck I was going to get the petrol out and re pack and return it….

I then dismantled the engine to access the fuel

Tank and it was a 3 hour shit show… 2 screws fell into the ended.. there were leaves in it.. I couldn’t screw it back together and cracked the outer case…

Eventually I shoved it back into the polystyrene with my foot into the box. Stank of petrol. Back in the car to the hardware….. as I queued I thought I actually couldn’t have damaged this anymore if I tried.. heart thumping lifted the box onto the reception desk, it rattled as I did and the stench of petrol was over bearing… no eyecntact.

“Bought this earlier, decided I don’t want it”

Manager was called… he said was everything ok with it? I just said it was a great machine but just too loud.

Bit annoyed to be honest but just want to return it.. he glanced through it… goes to the cashier and goes “ok grand” types in his code…. Refund processed… 😆🤣

4 hours of my life I’ll never get back….

Life lesson? Don’t be that cock who buys a leaf blower…
