"I think that both are derogatory terms that are offensive and deserve no place in a liberal world." I think they're both delegator too however , some people seem to see slut as acceptable but slag as an insult!

"I'm not sure why but I think of slag as being a bit more working class? A certain accent saying it. Neither should be used on another unless you're certain about how they feel. Slut more people are reclaiming and that's great. I don't know if slag has that ring to it." I think I'd agree with that!

"They have their place inside dynamics and consent. Neither are words you should use casually at or about strangers 💜" This is the answer, I think they have been used historically as an insult for a liberated woman, using them nowadays can still be taken as an insult without consent. You call Mrs NW214 a slag, slut or even whore without consent or context then we have a problem. Whisper it in her ear whilst shes being pounded into a mattress then your likely to get an eye roll and a pleasure moan of agreement. ![]() ![]()

"Neither should be used really, why does anyone have call anyone names. Yes, but what if they came themselves names?" I'm not a fan of either. If someone chooses themselves to have it in their username or is happy to be called either, then that's a conscious decision they've made themselves, and entirely their prerogative. If someone chooses to use it as a label for anyone else then that's not OK. There's a huge difference between self determination and labelling by others. 🤷♂️

"Slut gets me wet. Slag gets you punched in the face ! ![]() I'm clearly a prude but also autistic. You have to tell me you want me to call you a slag or a slut or um...punch/slapped in the face... In which case I will probably do it as hard a limp dick. ![]()

"You often see the terms slag and slut thrown around. Some have them in their user names But what's the difference? What do ladies think? Can men be slags or sluts?" I don't like being called a slag or a slut or whore during sexual play. I do like being told I'm a greedy good girl. However, I do know some people have a kink or fetish for those words and it really turns them on. My friend with benefits loves me calling him a slut while I use the prostate massager on him. So yes men can be sluts or slags especially if they want to be in the bottom and/or sub role.

"The origin of the word slag is entirely with reference to waste product or rubbish. The word slut originally meant a dirty or unkempt woman but changed over time to encompass sexual promiscuity. From that I would say ‘slag’ is pretty much always derogatory. ‘Slut’ might be an insult or a compliment depending on context and perception. Personally I love slutty women. They’re perfect!" That's a brilliant bit of definition. My mrs will call her self a slut at times due to her lifestyle choice. But she is not a slag.

Yes that reminds me of old phrases I'd hear when I was really young where it's said a thing is 'ready for the slag heap'

"I regularly use slut for myself… I even have it as a tattoo. But, and it’s a big but… it doesn’t give anyone else the right to use it to me. They’ll know if they can. Slag as a derogatory term went out of fashion not long after the banging film Rita, Sue and Bob too 👍🏻" Imagine a studio exec trying to pitch that film nowadays? "Right, there's this married guy but he's getting fired into these 2 schoolgirls...."

"Some people associate the word 'slut' with women who aren't very good housewives and have sex with loads of men and 'slag' with women who have sex with loads of men or to describe a by product of coal mining. I dislike both words used to describe people and the people who use them in a derogatory fashion. If somebody wants to use either term to describe themselves that's up to them. " I’ve known a number of women that use the word slutty for themselves.

"You often see the terms slag and slut thrown around. Some have them in their user names But what's the difference? What do ladies think? Can men be slags or sluts?" I’ll tell you from a mans point of view (sorry, I know you’re only trying to engage with women for some reason 🙄). One is a childish extremely derogatory term that only a very few distasteful people would use, the other can be considered as a term of endearment in a kink environment. I find the question a little odd to be fair as it’s very very rare to hear of a woman (or a man for that matter) referring to themselves as slags.. Some might disagree but it’s just my opinion 🤷🏻♂️

"I think slag is always derogatory but slut in the right context isn’t." Agreed. Grey and I are both Dom(me)... in the dungeon either one of us might use it when talking to a submissive bloke (me) or woman (both of us), with their prior consent, of course! Slag is a nasty word, but not in a good way. Scarlett xx

"I don't like the term slag, it gives Kat Slatter and Albert Square vibes. The term slut I love, I use it to describe myself fairly often and my Dom will occasionally call me it while degrading me. I adore it in the context of a loving, long term trusting dynamic. Personally being so in love with someone I'm prepared to be their slut is magical to me. " Cackle @ Albert Square.

"I think that both are derogatory terms that are offensive and deserve no place in a liberal world." I dunno, I think "slut" largely depends on context and the people involved. If a women wants to declare herself a slut then, y'know, fine - own it. Good for you! I can't speak for all men, but I'd personally steer clear of calling a woman a slut, except maybe as part of a mutually agreed kink thing. Even then, I'm not sure I can pull it off. I find the "dirty porn talk" thing a bit affected and comical and can't really take it seriously. "Slag" is just a bit grim and outdated, isn't it? Plus, I think Viz ruined it as a term.
