Ever Had a Hugh Grant Moment…

But No Hugh Grant?

Mine was a bottle green school jumper, white shirt, and green and white tie (it was the '80's). But my aunty — a proud knitter — made me a cable-knit one (Jumper). Fancy patterns, louder shade of green. Think lime'ish.

The dinner ladies (all 70+) loved it.

The girl I fancied — and her mates — did not.

And of course, true and sod’s law… the one and only time I got called up on stage by the head for a rugby award (more effort than talent), I was wearing that jumper.

Still haunts me. No Hugh Grant. Just me and that bloody knitwear.

Anyone else have a moment like that — where the universe lined everything up just to humble you?
