Objection, I don't want to be the exception ‼️

Or do you? Are you OK with being the exception? 🤔

I used to get lots of messages stating "I usually prefer tall guys, but in your case I'd make an exception " or "I don't usually go for white guys, but in your case I'd bend the rules a bit...", and honestly it always made me feel a bit 💩... I didn't feel special or unique, but more so like being the best of the undesirables. I get that it's just tongue and cheek, and maybe I should feel honoured as a so called exception, but it just gives me the "ick ". Anyone else had experiences like this? How did it make you feel?

Hello

Yes I think if you realise you're not their first choice it's disheartening. It makes you feel like you're not good enough. I always decline in those circumstances as you are good enough for the right person.

It does happen so you're not on your own.

The amount of guys I’ve said aren’t my cup of tea and then had them say “aw can’t you make an exception” is crazy!

But no I personally wouldn’t want to be “an exception”

I'm with you on this one.

Oh, you usually go for petite girls and your friends will think it's weird if they see you with me? Off you pop to find a petite girl then 💜

I've experienced this type of response a few times and never took it as a negative. I simply discounted the remark down to my indifference and continued with the conversation.

I interpret it as them finding something unprecedented in me or my profile, or breaking their conventionalities and being amenable to my qualities. I think it's good to see people's barriers being more fluid.

For us it’s the opposite we get guys messaging who want to be the exception to all our boundaries and want to fuck the Mrs.

.

A few times. Like when they have on their profile "whites only/not interested in blacks" things along those lines and when it's pointed out to them they'd make an exception for me. Once I was told that they'd make an exception for me because I'm not black black. 🥰

Really warmed my heart knowing that people find it deep within themselves to overlook a little thing like that in a bid to fuck me. #blessed

It can be a cack handed compliment.

It doesn't need saying though. If they are attracted to you then they don't need to pull out a negative point or make out they are doing you a favour......

Having said that - if we percieve we are lacking in someway, a throwaway comment with no intention of hurting can feel like an insult.

Jeez some of the people you mention make the rest of us look good. I think we all get that people have preferences, but I don’t think I’d mind if someone said to me “I don’t like chubby/bald men normally…”

Maybe I don’t hear it enough to get sick of it

I'm with you OP, it's almost the same as a back handed compliment. No need to say it, just come on over and start the fun x I don't think I've ever said anything like that to someone and probably never would.

My only experience of this was when staying in an hotel once and a couple I had never heard of or spoken to before messaged to say it looked like we were in the same hotel and would I come to their room and fuck the missus.

I looked at their profile and in the title heading and the first paragraph of their bio it stated in capital letters that under no circumstances did they ever meet single guys.

In the second paragraph they reiterated that and said women and couples only without exception.

When I drew their attention to this they told me I was a loser and a fucking useless timewaster.

Apparently to be an exception I had to be a silent one.

They had almost 100 verifications from women and couples so I can only assume they felt I should be grateful to be their first exception.

Did they say they don’t normally meet losers and time wasters but would make an exception?

Had this a few times with messages from young couples who’s upper age limit on their profile is well below our ages... Comments like “we don’t normally go for older couples, but”.... part of you thinks it’s a compliment I suppose, but you always think that if a younger couple were available, we wouldn’t get a look in.... So we always politely pass ...

After so long you get used to rejection so they just go over your head

Don’t take that as a bad thing though it makes you appreciate the good ones more

Mate that coat is exceptional 🙌...can I borrow it for my Alucard cosplay outfit? I usually don't go to comic con, but with that coat, I just might make an exception 😏
