I'm starting to write some veris. Fun times.

Do you write them? Do you display them?

If you wrote a veri for someone, they didn't for you - would you be upset/not fussed?

I can't decide if veris are good or bad overall.

I’m not much fused if someone will give me a veri or not it tells me if they actually enjoyed or was just being nice

Recently someone gave me a veri & I decided not to display and I think it made them mad

We work on the principal of “if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all” - We write only them if we enjoyed meeting them. *That doesn’t mean we played, just that they are genuine, and genuinely nice people.

We don’t show any veri’s that mention any specifics about play - for us, that’s still a private matter between all involved.

I don't display mine as I'm not looking and they're years old. 99% of the time I wrote them, sometimes there was no need but sadly, most were also written a bit eager sat in the car with a burger on way home at some silly hour. I'm not the best at checking what I've written at the best of times so the sentiment is there if nothing else.

Quick summary: verifications are such a pit of drama. I feel like I’ve lost friends over not writing verifications even after explaining that they make me awkward and overthink. I sometimes struggle with the public/private nature of personal relationships. I’ve been asked to not write a verification because of (unspecified drama) But I don’t mind if people skip giving me a verification or if we don’t exchange them at all.

I'm not really fussed whether I receive them or not. I display some which I think are a fair representation of who I am, and occasionally I'll ask someone I've met to provide me with a verification just to show I'm still actively meeting, or if I've been away from the site for a while. I'll offer a verification to someone who doesn't have many, but never expect to receive one in return, and I never hand them out unsolicited.

I like writing veris and receiving them. I always check with someone if they would like a veri before doing one and up until now nobody has said no. With regulars there does come a point where they’re no longer written but that’s not because we haven’t had a good time.

I don’t write graphic veris and have not displayed some because I’ve felt they’re too graphic!

I do like to receive one back if the person has displayed theirs though xx 😄

For us veris are a good thing. They give a hint as to what a person is like and gauges the type of people they’re interested in……plus I’m nosey and quite like reading through them! Xx 😄

I need veris because I have a solo guy profile. Nobody pays you any attention if you don’t have veris, and they need to be recent, no matter how long you’ve been using Fab.

Veris prove you are genuine, your profile is true to who you purport to be, and most importantly; you turn up when arranged.

Some people have turned me down over the years, because “You’re too active for me”, or “I don’t meet men who met her”…….and that’s their choice. I’ve also accepted those who don’t use/display veris, especially the solo females who don’t want an overloaded inbox because they’re then seen as ‘fair game’….

Veris do not guarantee meets, and can work against you, but overall, I think they’re a good thing, and will continue to use them.

I used to display them. I hid them recently, just because. I think I've displayed the new ones after the last social we attended.

I'm not fussed if we don't get them, now that we've had a few to verify that we are who we say we are. I do love getting them and reading them.

I've been stung once when I noticed one that I'd sent and was displayed, wasn't anymore. Like, ok. But, it is what it is. 🤣

I'm so rubbish at remembering names/usernames to send them out. That's my problem!

I've written a verification for every meet I've had but at least a third of those have not given one in return.

A few have chosen not to display my verifications but have been happy to display lots of others from the same social.

Some have claimed that they don't write or accept verifications and yet they have written and accepted them from people who were at the same event.

I've come to the conclusion that some are selective in both giving and displaying because they don't want others to know they have met certain people while others weaponise them in order to show exactly who they are meeting or socialising with.

I don't really like writing them but I've never written or displayed a play related verification. They have all been social.

The only time someone gave me a play related verification I refused to display it because they had a very vivid imagination.

We passed each other in the hallway at a social and said hello and that somehow morphed into a verification giving the impression we had spent the night together.

I take many verifications with a pinch of salt including some that I have received.

I only ever write a verification for someone once it's been discussed and mutually agreed upon. I don't ask for them, nor do I say I don't want them. I see it as a reciprocal discussion first; almost a consent thing (granted, I know someone could choose to not display one written for them, but I'd never do that without asking first as that may seem 'expectant of a return').

I like to receive verifications I think they prove you are who you say you are. They also they give an insight into what you're like sexually. So that entices a man to be curious about you. I also read verifications for that reason too.

I do give verifications if a man you have met wants one, it's a nice thing to do.

I write a verification for someone that I have had a connection with, whether was a social or a play meet. I have had plenty of social meets where there was no spark and unless they have specifically asked for a verification, I won't write one.

If I am thinking about meeting someone, I double check the verifications but wouldn't make a decision solely on them.

I like this ^ and I admire your amenability and humility... ...I wish I could adopt this approach.

For years I was never bothered about verifications but I've become more fussed about them because of recent experiences. I'm wondering if, unbeknownst to me, it's down to a change in culture on how they are bestowed or awarded, dependent on some mystifying criteria.

I'm going through a phase where I'm verifying people but they're not verifying me back — especially when they've given me their 'seal of approval' on WhatsApp or Telegram as a form of consent, before I go ahead and post it on their profile.

It leaves me feeling quite nonplussed. It's not the lack of verification per se that leaves me bewildered but the fact I've been singled out and treated differently.

I'm not sure what it is with discourteous and unempathetic people who don't verify you in return...but are happy to display yours with gusto and relish!

I feel like they're telling me "Ha! I've got your veri', now fuck off!"...and then giving me the middle finger.

To answer your question, OP: I love writing quirky verifications for people and I take delight in displaying them.

We like veris and display them (aside from one because the guy has since gone on our shit list) happily.

They aren't the be all and end all but sometimes can be a good window into what people can be like. Example a guy who is straight on his profile but has all veris from guys he has had sex with.

Veris that are too graphic leave me cold, I don’t need to feel like I was in the room!

But…I am guilty of veri hopping to get a feel for a person and would use them to decide if someone was the type of person I’d want to meet. In fact, it’s a rabbit hole I fall down regularly

I'll verify someone the first or second time but generally not for repeat meets. I try to make them personal or funny. It's nice when someone puts thought into it and it means something. You can tell how much interaction people had or didn't have by how much is said I think. I do read between the lines...

And I dislike the really graphic ones and wouldn't give those myself. More suggestive if required

They can be. But there's also some good to them. It can be lovely to read back and remember certain things. I like seeing veris between friends - when someone I like meets someone else who is wonderful and it makes perfect sense. Private vs public can be tricky - I've never displayed any relating to sex and not sure that'll change any time soon.

The ungrateful harridan doesn’t display it.

I find that people often cross over to view the profiles that leave great verifications - it’s worth putting in some complimentary effort where it’s due, and possibly humour, make ‘em smile

I go through phases of showing them. I’ve even asked ex-partners to hide the ones I’ve left. I usually only leave them after a group social especially if there’s a new person or a single guy and I’ve spent time chatting with them. It’s hard to get established on here sometimes so a nice verification could make the difference to someone. Oh and I’ve been known to block people if they’ve become a bit cunty just so my lovingly written verification doesn’t give people false impressions of them.

I don't tend to go into detail of what we got up to though. I have displayed the ones I've received. It's nice to get one but it's not the end of the world if I don't get one. Be nice to clock up a few more on here but that would involve actually meeting someone.

Ohh - as in a good thing? I don't know. I can tell when they are and it feels... too scripted. I like hearing someone's real voice. They say more about the verifier (sometimes at least!).

Either/or for us. We're not massive about verifications. We don't chase them. Plus we've been at this a few years now and it would seem mad to verify everything. Not a fan of generic almost default verifications for the sake of verification. However it's nice to have the occasional conscientiously and genuinely reflective ones because it just gives othes a flavour of us. And obviously we will return the verification with genuine and sincere input.
