I've never given it much thought apart from the fact that I'm 6 years older than my dad was when he passed away 38 years ago.

I'm fairly active and will continue to be for as long as possible.

God yes, only started feeling comfortable in myself over the last 5 years and now definitely starting to see the signs of aging.

Getting old scares me and aging depresses me. But I refuse to have work done in an attempt to stay young looking.

Wished I had had more body confidence in my younger days

And also hopefully you just find other hobbies to take their place? I am looking forward to having more time for myself when I can retire!

No I'm not worried but o am aware that I need to maintain fitness, flexibility and balance. To that end I try and sit on the sofa eating cake as frequently as possible .

Seriously I think that unless you commit to remaining active your late 60s onwards will mark a decline so as long as I'm able I'll keep exercising.

As far as looks are concerned being groomed, well dressed and keeping fairly current with clothes and hair are important to me but unless it become cheap and pain free I won't have work done

Not in the least bit worried about ageing because, I'm in a very contented place having had a life of reasonably high achievement, still enjoying the fruits of my labours, reasonably well enough travelled, and had all the varied intimate encounters that most guys having a mid life crisis can only fantasise about without me ever once having had to pay at the door so to speak. At 61 it does help boost the confidence though when I take my Iceland senior citizens discount card to get my discount on a Tuesday, and the check out operator queries my age. I have wondered about using my Iceland card as a chat up line to pull on here by inviting some lady to meet me for a social in Iceland car park, then she could use my card to get 10% off her shopping, and I might just get a result. So ageing may have some advantages.

I have a love / hate relationship with ageing!

I love that with my age and experience I am more confident and aware than I have ever been before yet the hate side is that I am definitely noticing the changes that age brings, whether that is thinning and greyer hair or being ‘seen as old’

I mentally feel much younger but get put in my place when I talk to much more youthful colleagues lol

My mum had a friend for 30+ years. She is 82. If she tells you she is 62, you believe her. She has mever been in hospital, never taken a medicine apart from cold or pain medicines, she drives, carries her shopping, goes up and down stairs, etc.

The worst part of getting old is losing people.

I'm 61. Lost my partner in the pandemic 2020. Watched my dad decline with dementia and go out to heart failure. After 4 years on my own I started to get quite poorly and had a painful groin so went to see the doc, obviously they had to examine me and asked if I was sexually active. I laughed.

Anyway. I had an awful year with my health. The groin thing turned out to be epididimitis, easily treated with apparently hallucegenic antibiotics. One thing led to another and mid year I ended up having a gut op. When I woke up I wished that I hadn't. Cue a post op infection and much bleeding.

Anyway. Doing this, after a lifetime of vanilla and playing by the book is a bucket list item. And boy do I feel better for it. I've now got a regular fwb, been to clubs, met nice people, got a whole new lease of life and have even started to lose weight.

Fortunately he's led a full and active life and has achieved or done pretty much most of what he wanted to, so he's content thankfully. Much discussion about making sure you don't waste time and do your best to go where you want to and do what you want to within other constraints such as health, relationships and finances.

Upshot - Carpe diem..

Better to worry about things you can change and accept things you can’t

Live life to the full and not have regrets about things you haven’t done when it’s to late to do them

Actually … not at all ….. still not queuing at the local pharmacy! Still keeping fit … erections better than ever wiser … more thoughtful … aging and loving it … it’s freedom so much to give plus we are all a long time dead

Hmm that's a good question! I currently have 2 and then there's not our cat who just thinks he lives with us...I reckon i can attract a few more before claiming the title?

Not worried at all. As im getting a year older I feel a year younger. Plus my great grandad was still at it in his 90's. Hopefully I take after him!

Why worry about something you have no control over?
