Does it help if someone deconstructs what you're over thinking about?

My dad over thinks a lot, projecting way into the future. I spend a lot of time going through things with him and asking how likely certain outcomes are or explaining why it's not going to happen. I'll be honest I'm the one who's exhausted by the end of it.

I do feel your pain though even if it's from the other side

I totally know how you feel, I am an anxiety sufferer of 22 years and overthink EVERYTHING, it’s draining and debilitating.

I’m lucky that I have a partner who won’t take any nonsense from me and lays it out in black and white for me to realise (it doesn’t always help though) that I am making a mountain out of a mole hill, my inbox is open if you want a chat

Have you tried darts or backgammon, things that will take your mind up in other more relaxing ways but stimulate you away from whatever it is you are trying to fathom. Jigsaws, card games, chess that kind of thing

La la land

I have this issue, especially when trying to get to sleep. I've found magnesium supplements have helped a lot.
