Mental health check in 20/07/2025

I know Fab admin doesn't like us to talk about it but I'll keep it light.

I think I'm ok...ok for me. I've been off work since December 2024 when I had a meltdown at work triggered by my supervisor pushing buttons, general work stress, autistic overstimulation and failure by my line manager to implement reasonable adjustments. I also have 13 symptoms of perimenopause and felt very ill since September 2024.

I have insomnia but I stayed at home and rested today after a very full-on last week!

I went to Cap D'agde with a playmate. Lots of fun and lots of overstimulation. But you can always run off to the beach/sea/sand dunes to hide if it gets too much.

I have to start looking for another position in the company from tomorrow in 8 weeks or they will close my contract aka manage me out aka fire me.

Tell me again how Labour and the Conservatives ( no idea what Reform and the lib dEms are up to Lol!) wants the sick and the disabled to be working until we are age 70 again?

I'm ok because I am working with other professionals to keep me stable, legally, physically, psychologically, financially and socially ( I keep hiding from my social worker..she gives me anxiety)

I'm fiercely independent and often forget that I'm supposed to ask for help, especially with my diagnoses...oops. That's why I go to 3/4 support groups a week to keep me stable. I have one tomorrow which is regarding Mentalisation-Based Therapy. Feel free to ask me what MBT is.

Feel guilty for not going to the gym to start building muscle to fight perimeno but my body and mind felt tired ( or might have been the screaming orgasm my safety buddy gave me last night ( the drink not the sex). I'm supposed to be pacing since the GP referred me to the Chronic Fatigue clinic.

Thank you for coming to my late-night rant/blog.

Feel free to expunge what demons you are also battling with. No shame here, especially since I saw a woman "squirt" 2 litres of liquid over a man at the Babylon Pool party in Cap.

oh yeah it's period/Aunt Flo demon time...someone said Perimeno is puberty in refuse like WTAF...they might be right.

I’ve been like I’m not enough for a few weeks now. And people keep telling me I am enough, just not for them. And tbh that’s the biggest load of bull tbh. So I’m done.

Also can’t seem to sleep well these days.

Hugs. who are these "people". I usually ignore the people...lol! I have enough going on in my head without listening to other people too much.

Actually, I'm the opposite...I'm too much for them. Lol!

I had to do a deep dive into CBT-Insomnia to figure out what was going on.

I've been single since 2013 so I had to learn to self-validate and self-arouse. lol! The thought of being in a relationship gives me anxiety now. Lol!

Still learning slef-protection.

I'm really sorry to hear you are having such a tough time. Glad to hear you are being supported.

If you haven't already please ask work for a stress risk assessment. Also find out if they an organisational stress risk assessment. As well as an occupational health service to support with adjustments.

Happy to advise on this if you need it .

Thanks. My line manager isn't doing anything to support me. I've asked for so many things and received nothing back from him apart from threatening letters.

Now the manager above him wants me to do training at home for no pay even though I'm not 100% well and off sick.

This makes zero sense to me but my health will be prioritised not training.

Sorry to hear that OP 😞 hope you do feel better soon.

I've had really shitty few months, but it made me realise who is actually there for you and who isn't so there's that.

Hi OP, really appreciate your honesty. It's good you can talk about it and you are getting help. I can really empathise with you having had a meltdown 2 years ago (not my first either). Thankfully I am receiving help, but it's still tough especially when your sense of self worth takes a tumble.

I'm hanging in there though and things will get better.

I hope all the steps you are taking help to improve your life and mental wellbeing and sooner rather than later. Sending hugs and positive vibes x

I hope you are coming out the other side and you can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

From someone who's suffered in the past with mental health and still on going (ptsd, depression and anxiety) I just want to say well done for just speaking. It can be tough at times, sometimes it's got to get worse to be better, but it will!

1 thing I'd say, if you can (i dont know your circumstances sorry) but try get out of your work place and find somewhere new. I took a total gamble on a new career change and genuinely believe it's helped me alot. If thats not an option, try seek legal advice as im sure companies can't make you do work or training if your off on the sick. I could be wrong, but I've never had to deal with it, I struck lucky with my employers when I left the forces.

You've shown strength to just come out about it and speak about it to strangers, so keep doing what you need to do to help yourself. There's no shame in asking for help too.

It is what it is. I'm focusing on my health first. I hate the fact that I can't earn a living by myself but it is what it is. Maybe I can become self employed.

Hugs I don't usually have people there for me in terms of friends and family so I rely on professionals and peer support groups.

We are all basically hanging in there...especially in middle age. That said I'm meeting Gen Z people going through the ringer and I think that's so unfair! We should be supporting young people to live their best life! Not punching down.

I'm used to speaking to strangers about it so it's more desperation than strength. lol!

I'm too stubborn to just give up so I just keep plodding along.
