I'm saying this as a 48 year old so I can happily say something like:

They were the days when you could get 100 felt tip pens for £1 from woolworths.

I have 3 daughters aged 23 years, 21 years and 14 months and I just wonder the types of things they will be able to say in years to come on the basis of

"They were the days"
