Have you ever come to a crossroads in life where you feel you need something totally different to do.

There's so much going on in my head I've got no idea which way to turn.

How did you all figure out which road you take.

I do apologise is this sounds like a boring or totally useless post but I have nowhere else to turn for advice/guidance or whatever

Edinburgh

Yes. I've been there and it happens every few years for me. I think you have to look at what brings you joy and try to find more opportunities to do those things.

Yes, it is OK to feel as you do. Life is full of challenges, and occasionally you can get caught in a rut.

I've gone through some challenges in recent years losing my wife, it affected my social life too. However getting out of your comfort zone, joining new clubs (not related to this site ), but things you might have interests in, brings new people and opportunities into your sphere, and before long life seems different and brighter.

Best of luck.

Manchester(ish).

Yes I've been there and made pretty radical changes in my life a number of times.

Vast majority of them turned out well. I've very few, if any regrets.

How do you find your way?

Connect to your most honest and authentic self and see what direction it takes you.

If in doubt take the most radical direction you can

Good luck OP.

Not sure hasty move to the outer Hebrides is the answer, just carrying the same junk to another part of the country, try and get some professional help if you struggling

Very true. I've seen countless people but you can only talk about things so long

I know it can seem overwhelming when so many balls are "up in the air" all flying around. It's like being surrounded by a flock of squawking ping-pong balls obscuring you view beyond. That would overwhelm anyone.

.

The trick, I have found, is to ignore all of the balls (hard to do on a site like this and pluck ONE out of the air. And as you pluck it, give it a NAME of something really important to you.

Set it aside. Now pluck another. Give that a name too. Set it aside. Finally, got for a 3rd. Give it name. Set it aside.

.

Why did we do this ? Well, your subconscious knows you deeper than yourself and it's just decided on the most important and critical things, in that order. It's prioritised for you.

.

I would suggest that until these 3 things have a direction or intended plan, the rest of the cloud will carry on squawking. And it's likely that other ping-pong balls in the cloud are also connected. Pluck those that are, and set them alongside the 3 named balls. Creating connected "groupings".

.

In essence, breaking down a cloud in to smaller, more manageable chunks, and identifying the most pressing priorities.

.

I hope things resolve for you.

Changed direction 11 years ago, walked away from everything and changed direction. Never looked back, past is history and lessons learned.

Sounds a bit harsh but the only one stopping you is you and good things don't come from comfort zones.

Hope you find a solution and make the best decision.

Most of the time we know what we need to do, its just fear stopping us getting there. You've only got one life so if something needs to change, change it. Sometimes its a little step, others it might be a giant leap forward, whichever it is as long as you're aware of it, you're already progressing.

All over

First of all I hope it will all be clearer and better for you soon. Give yourself tbe opportunity to make rational not rushed decisions. Talk to others and whilst they may mot have tbe answer, it buys you time to 'heal' so that you can then decide what is best for yourself. As many said, you are not alone. Most of us go thtough such timea.

Deepest darkest Peru

Sometimes the fear of the unknown or the what ifs sometimes stop us from moving forward or making decisions that will change our lives in whatever way

I think if you’re feeling it, thinking it and it’s affecting you you know something needs to change.

Over the years I’ve made many changes some big and life changing to small step changes and can honestly say I’ve regretted none. My life is much more happier and full for doing so

Maybe consider rather than one huge great major change (like wot I did) do as many easy win small changes as you can. You’ll find you feel better because you’re doing something positive, for yourself (like the poster above intimated) and you’ll find life around you plods on anyway. Make time for yourself.
