With international self-care day coming up on July 24th, I thought we can share what kind of self-care everyone practices. I have to admit I have never been very good at it despite being quite a caring person to others. I am trying and want to be better though and will be intetested to hear from you and perhaps get some good tips and ideas to go forward with. Thanks

Take time to relax, maybe just soak in a bath with some music or audiobook. Treat yourself to something small you had your eye on, or just a sweet treat. Little things have a big impact

I think self care involves listening to your mind and body, knowing when to stop and when to ask for help. It also means getting treatment for something, knowing you can't do it all and making sure you're clean, groomed and moisturised.

It can take many forms, sitting quietly for 15 minutes or going for a walk or run.

Basically whatever you personally need to stay healthy in mind and body.

For me self care is enjoying a good cup of coffee without any distractions (Tv, Phone, etc)

Enjoying a walk in nature, a long hot bubble bath, or reading a good book.

The best I have found is to try and disconnect from the world a little bit, headphone go in and I go for a run usually in the forest near me and I stop half way round and listen to the wind in the trees and the birds and just be still! Very grounding and really helps if I’m having a tough time

I've took this week off for exactly that, get out on some walks, get back in to some exercise/working out. Music is a big thing for me also, certain songs and lyrics help.

Like you though i'm usually better at helping others and neglecting myself.

I live alone so don't have anyone else's day to day needs to consider

I think i practice self care without being knowingly aware of it

Thanks for posting everyone. Nice to read what you do. I will be out later for coffee and cake, one of the little things I do and enjoy.

That's what we do. We always make time for it on Sunday mornings so whatever wise has gone on there's that small oasis to look forward to

Yes, sometimes just a drive through and park somewhere and watch the world go by if I want a bit more peace and quiet

Calderdale innit

Take time to rest, get lots of sleep.

Watch feel good TV films or programmes.

Eat nice food, but treat yourself too.

Read a good book, with a brew.

It doesn't have to be fancy or expensive.

around here somewhere

Always remember you can't pour from an empty cup , make sure you are in a good condition & your own battery is fully charged before you can give to others because , believe me, there are those out there & they will drain you of your energy without blinking an eye , you 1st & then when you're good to go you have the energy & will to help others .👍

All very true and thank you. Hard to say no when others need you sometimes.
