Well mostly because Americans make more Alien films then anyone else.

It would also be likely if Aliens where learning our languages they would be learning from out TV and radio broadcasts. The USA broadcasts more Television and radio than any other country, so the ascents they would pick up would be american

Well it is an old Northern European word. Though it used to be said it was because it was the sound the Spanish made when talking

I have 2 questions for you:

1; If all the trees in the world died, how long would it take the Earth to suffocate itself?

2: If all the birds in the world took flight all at the same time & flew across the sky, how much of the Earth would be in darkness?

After watching that Professor Cox dude do a lecture, I'm fascinated by partical physics.

However, there is one thing he said that I'm absolutely sure that is bollox, yet I will never be able to prove I'm right, and he will never be able to prove he's right.

Basically, he put a fekkin huge diamond in a box, and said that, given enough time, cos things "vibrate", and during this vibration their particles match up with voids in other things around them, the diamond would "vibrate" itself through the box, and end up outside, leaving both the box, and the diamond, intact. The problem about proof is he reckons it would take billions of years.

my question is... should he have stuck with the band he was in, or become a dustman?

1: A very long time as most of the Oxygen we breath is generated from algae within the oceans

2: Now that is a very hard one to answer, most of the light we see is reflected by the earths atmosphere, plus about 50% of the earth is in darkness at anyone time anyways.. (Yes I know it is less the 50% because of the reflection.. lol)

He is wrong.. the earth will be gone long before it happened .. and the box would break down naturally even before that..

I think you are talking about the use of semi colons as a line terminator character in the C (c++,C#) language. So you are trying to get the answer how many lines of code are used in the Operating system.

Well it depends on so many factors, what version of the OS you are using, what libraries and other extras you have or do not have.

The distance depends on the size of the individual semi colon to start.

Knowing the LOC in a system only allows an estimate to be made about the number of semicolons in the source.

Of course, that's assuming the questioner was referring to source code and not semicolons in resource strings etc. that are visible to the user.

And clearly, the final part of the question makes it fairly obvious that the entire thing is not remotely serious. Sigh.

"After watching that Professor Cox dude do a lecture, I'm fascinated by partical physics.

Yes he is right.

Energy is everything & everything is an energy & yes everything vibrates & vibration is felt by those who sense it.

See you in a billion years

mmm...it's a theory..no-one knows if he's right..unless we wait a billion years..so in fact relative to today it has no use!"

So, again in theory, my hypothesis is as valid as his?

Yay..... up yours Coxy boy!!

White dogs poo, or, to give it its correct name... "Barkers eggs", was caused by there being a lot of calcium in dogs diets, either from bones, or from the crap that was put in as filler in a lot of the cheaper dog foods.

With the tighter regulation of foodstuffs, it seems even dog food had to be of a better quality, hence less fillers, and a lot less white poo!

when I look at a colour, say green - do I see the same 'colour' as everyone else or does my receptors interpret colour differently.

you may see 'my' red when you look at green but because you have been taught that it is green it is 'your' green

This is a very good question.

Nearly everyone sees, hears, smells and taste the same things. The wave length of red light is always the same, the sound wave of a tuning fork is always the same. The way our senses work are the same as well.

But from there things get weird, when the signals pass to our brains it is processed by memories and other factors. Everyone's brain is different, built from different experiences. So when you see red it fires off different things in your brain then would in my brain.

We are slowly working at ways to read thoughts, but it involves a system learning what happens in your brain when you see red and then looks for that pattern again. The same pattern could mean something completely different in my brain though.

Some people see sounds and hear colours, unusual but very well documented.

You need to watch a film called 'Idiocracy'. I think it should be shown in all schools as a warning ..
