Eurgh, why are they so hard to take??!!

I either look like I'm about 10yrs older and haven't slept in days (only half true) or I think I look good - but it looks nothing like me! I love the look of confusion on a guy's face when we first meet.

The camera never lies? Oh yes it bloody does!

I tend to prefer videos for faces.

I can't fathom my face in 2D flat photos, it always looks wrong. In a video where it moves it makes sense and my brain can recognise it as me 💜

I've tried this, I get even more awkward and just pull weird faces. And if I talk it can come out in any kind of accent.

Always use portrait mode.

Most phones in selfie mode prioritise the wider angle lens, which often makes your head the same shape as a potato.

Plus it blurs rhe background nicely. 😉

This pretty much resonates with me to a tee. I find that if I've achieved a half-decent photograph of my face that's me done and dusted for the year, and that's just about what every unfortunate recipient is going to get until next year's 'edition'.

Taking an annual selfie is like administering my annual flu jab: I'm not looking forward to it but I'm glad it's finally out of the way.
