What’s the best way to get a conversation? Started?

99% messages are either read and ignored or not even read what makes us stand out.

Most people looking at me are guys… but I’m guessing with the ratios that’s normal…

Yes I have read the profile.. added something just trying to start a conversation…

No one is gonna jump into bed with you straight off the bat

Just 'round the corner

Start a conversation with a random fun fact about something nobody's really interested in. It's worked for me on the past, the reply I normally get is a "Lol" or a "Uh"?

Carlisle usually

Having something interesting to talk about that's relevant to the person you're attempting to start a conversation with is generally part of it 💜

Honestly it's not all that different from trying to spark something up in real life. You're not always going to get there, and standing out from the crowd is imperative.

There's nothing you can say if they aren't attracted to you, even low effort messages are replied to if they fancy you. Just be yourself and let your messages be a reflection of you but the outcome will be the same dependent on the attraction levels between you.

Probably because 98% of the messages are, boring, abusive or ridiculous.

When I was meeting on here I had a very high success rate. Probably send five messages a month and get four or five replies.

When I’ve had couples profiles and see the barrel of messages from single guys maybe 100 or so a day at the beginning levelling out 15 to 20 a day, we were able to scan read every single one and replied to about one percent for the above reasons

All over

I am absolutely not an expert on this but just like a job application you need to read the spec and address the points, show aspects of your personality and above all be youtself or otherwise you will soon be found out. Does not guarantee a reply as everyone knows but at least you gave it your best shot.

Nothing wrong with that message from the right person, to the right person. K.

Oh I don't disagree, in my own experience though it's usually coupled with a blank profile, no pics and no bio. Not entirely sure what I'm supposed to work with, I'm good but I'm not a miracle worker

We look at a profile and pics before we open a message - if they are not intriguing then the message just gets deleted.

The beauty now is you can read the first sentence of a message without opening a message. So if it’s short, vulgar or straight in suggestive then we’ll delete it without opening.

The best advice I could give anyone not getting far on here is to ensure your profile and pics are decent before messaging someone…as it will help you.

Only message people that find you attractive... Then be the kind of personality they like too... That is the only way to guarantee more messages are answered... Otherwise it's way more miss than hit, especially if you don't send face pics or have them on your profile... And there are plenty of women looking, just in ninja mode

Humour and remembering some have a dark sense of humour so it'll work for some and not others. It's not the gateway but

'Hi I just read your profile/comment/update and wanted to say this...'

Just reading their profile and acting according is one hurdle crossed. giving advice or solving their problems in a forum is a good idea too.

i.e. solving broadband provider problems

Perhaps consider what NOT to start with. We get so many "Hi" "hey" Wot u up2 "I'm in the area" Do u take it up the arse and I'm looking for regular. Attitudes are as if they're ordering a pizza and we should be quick about it! Also... my wife it out for a few hours now or I have wifes permission...

Ive tried all sorts of opening lines. If you dont appeal to someone then not much you can do.

Its like going from Yorkshire to London and saying hi to someone as you get off the train…all you’ll get is a funny look from someone wondering why someone they dont know is talking to them. If your are from London then things like

Morning

Afrernoon

Good day

Alright

And Ey up

These are all greetings and we dont mean you any harm

My tuppence worth would be to say something about something on their profile , it proves you have read it & asking an interesting question about it but to keep a conversation going the text from both parties involved has to end with a question to keep the conversation flowing , if not , well then , it's left open to be ended .

People will view the sender's profile, before the message, most of the time, so get it imposed and accurately reflecting and representing you. Your message should probably reflect something in their profile, akin to Prey's suggestions.
