So you still read books or is it all Kindle etc for you now.

I have to admit I love having lots of books around the house, but digital is easier to carry about and read .

I travel with my job, if I am going abroad, I use digital because its less to carry and the charge lasts for ages, so I dont normally have to carry the charger.

If I am in the UK, usually on a train between Manchester and London, then I still read proper books.

Digital for novels, but for recipe books it just doesn't work for me, since owning a kindle I have only bought table books.

I used to love books but these days kindles are so much easier all round its what I use. I do miss turning the pages though.

I still have 5 bookcases full of "proper" books, but all my new books are now Kindle ones...nice sometimes though to just stick my nose in a new book and breathe in the gorgeous smell - now banned from local Waterstones for over-enthusiastic sniffing

I love my Kindle, but you can't read the Kindle Fire out side in full sun, not really too much of a problem in the current climate

But the feel, weight and smell all adds to the experience of a paper book, plus they are cheaper to replace when you drop them in the bath

Kindle for novels, 'proper' books for reference books etc.

I never thought I'd make the switch either. The only thing I don't like is I've found it's too easy to give up on a book I'd have otherwise persevered with had I been reading the hard copy.

I imagine I'll be banned from W H Smiths soon for taking photos on my phone of the books that I want to order when I get home

I have a Kobo and enjoy using it, it is far more transportable but nothing will take away holding a proper book, the smell of a book...turning the pages etc..and the satisfaction of closing the last page.

Kindles never appealed to me. I love books too much. - The smell, the feel, the general "cosy" feeling you get from sitting near a fire while reading a book... Plus, as has already been said, I think it'd be too easy to start and give up reading multiple stories with so much choice, I'd be lost!

I have finally given in to some aspects of digital reading.

Very handy to have thousands of recipes at ones fingertips & very handy when at work.

But because of the subject of the books I mainly read they are mainly still only in print & I do like that.

As for page turning while using Kindle, turn on page animation & you feel as though your flipping your page over

I hve only given up on one book i bought on my Kindle (something about a 100 year old man .... complete crap ) all other books i have read completly.

I have always had more than one book on the go anyway and thats far easier with a Kindle than having to cart around 2 or 3 paper books

Its brilliant when travelling abroad as usually i would have to take so many books the weight would be taken up with them lol

Love the feel of a book, but am going on holiday and have downloaded quite a few books free from Amazon, I can go through books rapidly so do tend to take about three with me, so thought the Kindle App was the way to go.

But have just got the new Dan Brown and it's saying "take me, you know you want to"

Our local church has a book sale every couple of months so tend to drop off when I know one is coming up. But still have about 300 books in the loft
