Ii find grammar nazis incredibly tedious and boring.

Not to say people shouldn't make a bit of effoirt with spelling, puncuation and sentencing but picking people up on spelling/grammatical errrors.......

Incorrect spelling I can handle when you can tell it looks like they have attempted it with the best if their ability. Its text speak I cant handle. Annoys the hell out of me!

Text speak is shocking, spelling and grammar not so bad but with most people using smart tech now some of the words that accidentally get replaced are so funny I almost wet my pants laughing

I'm still in therapy (but have finally stopped self harming) over a misplaced apostrophe in a post I made on a Why can't I get a meet thread in January 2012...not that I'm anal about it at all, but a little piece of me dies every time I see bad spelling and grammar - I never feel the need to publicly correct posts though (unless it's in an ironic way)

as in previous threads I hate bad grammar, spelling, punctuation and text speak. I detest the poor usage of 'there, their, they're etc etc' but when it comes to a sexy pussy and boobs it seems less important!

If we can't understand a message we ignore. Many people have many issues but we will say we would rather meet a polite friendly bad speller than an arrogant egotistical perfect speller.

It is just a 'pet' hate in the same way you may not like smokers or ginger hair! with the greatest of respect mate if it a pet hate for you imagen what its like for us its a twating way of life. school dont make me laff I left school believing I was thick an stupped I spent 8 long yrs at night school to just be able to look like I was a bad speller rather than this hell. I know you mean no offence an im taking none but to call this a pet hate like ginger hair I a little patronising to say the least...........its a disability or handicap an to be honest it doesn't even affect you so why even have an option...............

no intention to patronise you or offend you. fully take on board what you have said and I respect you for going to night school etc. it was only a discussion (and not mine to begin with) that I was taking part in and I was only expressing that I don't like bad spelling. I was also expressing that I do not judge a person by their spelling.

The only thing I dont practice is spelling wordsa.

Spelling mistakes just provide authenticity...thats why my natural choice for a "smartphone" is a samsung galaxy that has a pure shit auto-uncorrectness.

Shit...why doesnt anyone say: " ben you have impeccable spelling"?

I am naturally a good speller - not something I am proud of, just one of the things I can do as opposed to the many I cannot. That said, I often post without check spelling - in fact I never really check so a lot of my misdemeanours are typos and twisters such as "teh" and "whcih" ... I am very remorseful.

We go with the philosophy "if its legible its fine" bad grammar is more problematic as it can confuse but in the real world you have to accept we are all not the same and give people a bit of rope as they might actually be very nice people.
