I thought it meant cos it cooked the food nice and slow - NOT that you had to be slow to use em, hehehehe

Prepared all the food last night and put in the pot for the slow cooker.

Got up late this morning after the damn cats didnt come in til 4am, and then i couldnt sleep and then i did - but for too long.

So when i got up, fed the cats, blah blah - realised i still had to scrape the car AGAIn, so rushed off.

Was only half way thru the day i realised that my lovely tea would NOT be waiting for me as i had FORGOT TO TURN THE DAMN slooooooooow COOKER ON.

ADVERT- house husband wanted

.

I batch cook all the time, and freeze in individual portions so that I can take them to work to reheat in the microwave.

Providing you use good containers that prevent moisture ingress, like the Lok and Lok or equivalent, and you don't store them for too long, like no more than a month, then they are as good as fresh after being reheated in the microwave IMHO!

I have 4 different meat dishes in my freezers at the mo, and I don't need to batch cook for another month!

Chilli and rice today, leftover from the camping New Year party that I have been heating up twice a day so far.

I often have pots on the boil on the hob. Usually heat them up to full boil twice a day to kill any bugs that may have fallen in. So far so good, and I am still alive!

Batch/slow cook is really economical, especially for singletons, IMHO!!!
