Im looking for ideas for indoor exercise i can do in my home without going out and spending a fortune on equipment, Im now seeing a health trainer who is helping me loose weight and im looking forward to being a slimmer me by this time next year but i would like some help from you lot. But the weather has been dreadful and im worried about the days when im stuck in with my anxiety and depression or when weather is bad i still want to be doing something to help myself. I need to do 5 30min sessions a week im watchign my portions now and startign to eat better so wish me luck. Thanks in advance for the help.

indoor, not much without some kind of equipment.

some lightweight waterproofs might be a good investment so you can get out on a good long walk even if it is pissing it down. Bonus of walking in the rain, you get most places to yourself :D

Whatever the weather walking is good and the endorphins that excercise releases can help to lift any depression you may have. Why not try an exercise dvd? You dont have to buy them as you can rent them from your local library very cheaply. Good luck!

Do you have a wii? The biggest looser on the wii kinnect is a good work out and you train to your level.

Boxing gloves are cheap or a skipping rope or hula hoop for exercise.

Even if it is raining, stick a raincoat on and get out for 30 mins can help especially with depression. Think it's the getting out and the exercise combined.

There are loads of excercises you can do at homw (no equipment needed). Go on the NHS website and search for "workouts" and they have lots of 10 minute ones - just do three of those

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

Look at 10 Minute Solution workout DVDs. I have 4 and do them when the weather is too filthy for going to the gym. They're great. My favourites are Blast Off Belly Fat and Target Toning.

If your having a bad day with a panick attack normally you feel too tired to go anywhere. But even after a rest, try just walking around the garden or around the block. Depending on how your feeling obviously. Best of luck.

false, first law of thermodynamics, every single bit of exercise no matter how low impact will burn calories

if its weight loss you are after exercise is the small part, the biggy is controlling the amount of calories going in, even with no exercise you burn calories all day long just staying alive

i have found this site incredibly useful in the past and as its not a commercial site, ie, free i presume its allowed here

Run up and down stairs one at a time then increase to two and so on.

Put feet under a chair or get someone to hold them and do sit ups. Lots yo do depends on what exervises you want.

I've got a brilliant 30 day ab workout which is set out as a little planner for exercises daily (you also get rest days). Ticking the days off is rewarding

PM me and I'll send it over

Also, check out workoutathome, these have free workout videos and diet advice.

Good luck

"

Not exactly true.

If your eating shit you wont lose weight.

Stay away from saturated fat, sugar and high carb food.

What I mean by satursted fats eg: crisps, chips etc

Eat 5 meals per day portion size approx the size if your fist plus half.

By eating five meals per day..will mean that your snacking in between, people with severe weight issues tend to subconsciously binge..this eliminates that.

It will also speed up your metabolism as your body will constantly be digesting food. This will speed up your weight loss, without "crash dieting".

Cut out your sugar intake completely (unless your diabetic)

Gradually reduce your carbs, you still need carbs to lose weight. Im not a fan of the no carb diet either.

Eat highly acidic fruit like lemons oranges pineapple..these are natural fat burners.

Indoor equipment? Nope. Do a brisk 1-2 mile walk every day...EVERY day.

Do this..taking into account all the above and you will lose weight.

Hope this helps you lady.

Ben xx

exactly true, movement costs energy. no exceptions.

sure if you eat more than you burn you will gain.

if you burn more than you eat, you will lose.

Theoretically..but its all subjevtive to your interal metabolism.

But thats not scientific fact per se...just my humble opinion.

if you live in a house with stairs walk up and down the stairs several times and as you get fitter run, step up and down the bottom stair keeping your back straight and pulling your core muscles in. Stand in the ktchen (or anywhere lol) with a tin of baked beans in each hand and do some lifts. Use a length of rope or washing line and use it as a skipping rope. This isn't a joke..clean the windows vigorously, vacuum with gusto, clean the kitchen floor by hand, turn on your favourite music and dance like mad...draw the curtains first . There are loads of things you can do inside with no specialist equipment.

Good for you for doing it

Some people's metabolism speeds up or slows down the bodies besal metabolic rate, that is the amount of calories they burn inactive, that is true.

Fact is though every movement costs calories, if there were exceptions there would be a lot of starving people happy to hear it!

We follow ( not religiously) a exercise regime from the TA .

It has a set number of bicep curls, squats , sit-ups and press ups which increase each week.

Day one of each week has a 60 second rest between each repetition so you may have say 10 press ups, 60 second rest and then another 10 in blocks of five .

Day two is a mile and a half run in best time , so unless you have an enormous house that would be no good.

Day three is at least one more on each exercise with a 90 second rest between each repetition .

Day four is a five miler, run around your living room five thousand times ;.).

And day five is an increase again on each exercise with a two minute rest each.

As said before you don't need expensive equipment or gym membership .

Put your feet under the sofa for your sit ups and do your bicep curls with tins of beans.

Try running , as you are moving fast you might find you don't get time to be frightened of outside , join a local running club .

Good luck .

True..yeah.

I think pretty much people can eat what they want as long as they exercise.

Once the lady see's results its all downhill after that.

The hard uphill bit is getting the ball rolling and cutting bad habits.

No, because that too would defy the laws of thermodynamics - weight loss really is as simple as burning off more calories than you're eating, and typically is the vast overcomplicating of such a vastly simple concept that hinders people most in their fitness and fat loss goals.
