It use to be reasonable priced for a meal in there, but there's a huge housing complex for the over 50s currently being built opposite the restaurant. Since the planning was approved, prices have been creeping up. | |||

"Don’t know the exact prices but it really shocked me returning to the UK this year how expensive coffee and cake is in general, it’s around £10 out in the Peak District. I used to get Chai(Karak tea) and cake in Dubai for less than £1" It is more in tourist areas. We usually pay less than £15 for coffee and cake unless we're right in the seafront where it's more. | |||

The mark up on espresso is insane! However I now can’t stand instant coffee 😫 "I'm not a fan of instant, I use to know a woman who refused to call it coffee and just referred to it as Nescafé regardless of brand . She was elderly when I knew her in the 70s one of the last of her kind | |||

When very rich companies posting profits in the billions add the equivalent of 20p in the pound to their profit margin we grumble a bit and carry on. We're funny things us humans. | |||
