"I'm meant to be in the office at work studying for my nvq today but the decorators are still there. Because of this my manager has sent me to the library in town instead. I'm sat here with my books out, seriously lacking any motivation and browsing fab instead of studying. Oops lol. My motivation is so bad I've even arranged a social at the pub across the road later How do you stay motivated when all you really want to do is skive or have fun?" Set aside 30 minutes Now to start. It's the anxiety of starting rather than laziness . Say that after 30 mins , if you don't want to carry in don't, though, to your surprise you may wish to carry on. Sometimes having a warm up ritual. I recall graham green I think , he used to sharpen a dozen pencils as a warm up and anothe derived always copied the last page he wrote on the previous session. Helped to get over the working block. May sound like drivel but I hope it helps .

"as i live alone now and struggling to cope with the solitude sometimes cant even be motivated to get out of bed " Struggling to cope with what?. Life , motivation ?. If its solitude, all I can say is ensuring regular contact with people work / significant others , family ect , is a must. From my own experience at least .

"thats why i,m on here to make new friends but as it hasnt turned out quite the way i hoped going to start going to clubs so i can socialise and hopefully meet people that way " It's a good start by I would advise you to be aware that often, a person who feels isolated may be detected by some unsavoury types. Be friendly and open yes, but don't throw caution to the wind. Maybe review what hobbies / interests you enjoyed pre wedding . Many may still be options for you now. Singles groups exist not just for dating but a host of interests. Good luck
