Hi ladies, what foundations are you using if you're of a more 'mature' age?

My current one is no longer working well enough for my tastes.

I've always used liquid foundation but finding (even with a good primer) it wants to sit in the fine lines and highlight dry skin.

I'm experimenting with cream foundations and powder foundations. So far, I like bareminerals.

I'll look into those, thank you x

I've been using TVstick foundation but it's doing that 'cakey' thing so time to try something else.

I’ve had to change as I’ve got older…..I use a really nice Estée Lauder primer and then instead of foundation I use Oskia Nutribronze as it’s more flattering on my skin xx 😘

I only use powder foundation as liquid and creams don't sit right in my pores and I love the Bare Minerals one. I used to love the Clinique superpower but they stopped doing my shade 🥺

I've used the same for years. Used to an Avon lady. With the case etc lol. I never found any difference and people say I'm punching above my weight. So why change. I think us women have too much pressure on us xxx. Men don't!! Xx

"Hi ladies, what foundations are you using if you're of a more 'mature' age?

I'm 53 and all my makeup is tattooed on, has been for the last 15yrs, eyeliner top and waterline, brows, lip liner and lip colour, so I don't 'wear' makeup

For 'foundation' I use fake tan and then a pore filter primer, I'm shocking at putting makeup on, Coco the clown has nowt on me 🤡 😂

I do contour with fake tan and do a smoky eye with again, fake tan

I like No7 from boots.

I have only just started wearing makeup regularly, but getting to that age where I need a little bit to make me feel a bit better about myself when I look in the mirror.

No7 intelligent colour sheer coverage foundation is lovely and my skin feels like silk when it's on.

On days I feel I don't need as much I'll use No7 mineral perfection powder foundation instead.

I started using it 18 months ago after trying several others that "claimed" not to sit in fine lines. It's excellent.

I’m going to go against everyone else and say that I fell for the insta hype but it looked powdery cakey on me. I can’t bear anything that looks like I’m wearing foundation so I pretty much just use a tinted serum.

I’ve recently tried this and found the foundation doesn’t sit well on my pores even with the primer (really hasn’t lived up to their claims). I like the concealer tho. Gone back to the MAC tinted moisturiser

I use Estee Lauder Daywear tinted moisturizer- it is amazing on my skin. It recently got discontinued and I managed to grab the last 5 at their flagship store in New York last autumn- don’t know what I am going to do when it is all gone. 😭😭😭😭

Another tinted moisturizer/foundation I used to use (and also got discontinued 🤬🤬🤬) was the Natural Collection from Boots. A £3.99 tube woukd last me 3 months.

I prefer skin tints now. Looks more natural and doesn’t sit in my lines and creases. I love the Fyne one but just been recommend the Maybelline super stay one so going to try that next.

Dear lord, it's a goddamned minefield!

If I start going out in public, I'll have to find a foundation that matches my skin. Currently I don't bother with one. 😬

I use Estée Lauder double wear foundation, I find the more mature I get the more prep work that goes into it first, so moisturise setting spray let dry, colour correction a bluring primer then a pore filling primer and then the foundation then fixing spray and will last all day x

I love double wear Estée Lauder however these days I have to mix it with a bit of highlighter or moisturiser, it settles otherwise it's not as good for my older skin.

I've never been able to bear the feeling of foundation on my skin so I don't wear it. I guess tinted moisturiser might be an option for me

Just saw this as I read the thread backwards 🤣. Which colour correction do you use. I struggle to find any that work well. Also never used fixing spray

Tonypandy.

I rarely wear makeup day to day, and only really know how to do dark goth style make-up.

So if I do need something I use the loreal nude magic tint, or Avon matte BB cream with a touch of moisturiser.

I use the urban decay setting spray which creates the barrier to stop any oils , I’m not sure what brand the corrector is as it’s old ( well past its date ) so am going to replace with the maybelline one ( it’s just peach coloured to hide the grey ) , and it’s a revolution fixing spray and once dried gives me 8-12 hours with very little touch ups if any

I'd always thought that more mature women would have to layer up the foundation but i've found the opposite.

The older i've become the less foundation I wear. I'd go without all the time but i'm too accustomed to looking groomed when I go out so I apply a very thin layer of translucent foundation.

I also thought I'd have to invest heavily but out of all those i've tried i've settled with Boots No.7 believe it or not. I use their Restore and Renew Serum. Very light ... hardly know it's there.
