Do you always discard them or make use of them? Is it always the sucker you discard or does it depend? Can you easily spot which one is tne sucker? Sometimes not that easy.

Those suckers on tomato and courgette plants. What do you do with them. Get rid, propagate or leave on as might also get more crop?

Except bush tomatoes of course. I also remove the lower leaves once the first couple of trusses have set.

Not really done much this year, just a couple of tomato plants (someone gave them, maskotka I think) and a courgette one. More for the fun.

Aberdeenshire

Depends if they determinate or indeterminate variety.

I usually leave some suckers on until they are thick and strong and then cut off and replant which will give a nice late crop of toms if the weather is decent.

I've got Maskotka this year they are trailing tomatoes for hanging baskets or pots . I don't think you need to pinch out the side shoots

You're very welcome. They will get to a certain height then stop growing. They ripen very early, I have one nearly ready now.

I am growing five other varieties with varying degrees of success
