What’s the Sydney University thing all about that people put at the end of their profiles? Is it something to do with stealing peoples photos?

I’m aware I could just Google this but that’d be boring, I much prefer to ask the brain trust on here 🙏🏻💙

Someone saw it someone else's profile and so on. It's pointless.

💯-

All disclaimers added to a profile are meaningless as by having an account, you have already agreed to the sites terms. These terms supersede any lazy cut n pasted lines of twaddle someone chooses to pad out thier even lazier profile with.

The ones that make us chuckle are the those lazy cut&paste sheep stating “Facebook is a publicly traded entity” 🙄

It's legally binding and rigorously enforced so don't get any ideas, buddy!

One such addendum to profiles mentions article 8.1 & 8.2 of the ECHR which is in itself laughable as in laymen’s terms, Articles 8.1 and 8.2 of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) mainly apply to the actions of governments and public authorities, not private companies like social media platforms. However, governments can be held responsible if they fail to properly regulate or protect you from privacy abuses by private companies.

Ends

Basically fab became a publicly traded thingy and so if you don’t put that on your profile it gets sold to the highest bidder along with the nudes you’ve posted on the internet. Posting that however means that legally, you’re untouchable
