Could anyone recommend a good site to put together a holiday in Majorca or corfu etc.

I've always used travel companies, but they're getting so expensive now.

It's just me and wife.

Go to a travel agent. Get them to knock something together for you, then book it all sperately. Done that loads and works out the cheapest way to do it.

Independent travel agents can often put a holiday together at reasonable cost.

When I did Tennessee a couple years back I literally booked a flight through Skyscanner and then Airbnb when we got there.

It was the most fun I've had on holiday and complete freedom to travel and see what we wanted

I agree. Plus much safer than doing it alone as they can bond flights and accommodation into a package.

If you're on booking site and you have a VPN, try changing your country, you sometimes get it cheaper, just pay it in that currency and your bank will automatically convert it to pounds.

wonderland.

I just use sky scanner for flights and then do the rest with booking direct with hotels after looking on Expedia or travago or other similar sites.

Love holidays, by the beach, Expedia , trip & the original- teletext holidays.

Compare on sky scanner once you locate the airport, flight times and booking dot com for the hotel, if possible book everything direct, package holiday's are risky and more expensive and they normally book you the lowest cost room in bad hotels

Most airports are connected by good busses or trains these days there is no need for silly price transfers/ tourist taxis

I tend to check for holidays with easyJet and Jet2 as often when I book flights separately to Europe on budget airlines, after adding in the luggage and seats, flights alone becomes expensive to book separately to hotels/apartments so find that works better as they have decent options and all the flight extras are usually thrown into the package. Shave off a few hundred compared to booking flight and hotel separately

I just book flights and then a Airbnb. Do some research, book a private transfer and off I go.

Never once failed me.

Usually use Ryanair, always read the reviews of the Airbnb. Use the filters to what you want from the property (aircon/swimming pool/number of bedrooms/wifi/washing machine ect)

I am my own travel agent 😊

Happy travelling 🌞

Skyscanner for flights and then I look at booking.com or loveholidays for hotels.

You can also find a package deal and go to hotel directly to book the stay and then book flights separately

C has her own travel company - the commission she makes isn’t added on, it’s from discounts she arranged with the hotel, transport, etc.

She doesn’t do off the peg holidays - they are bespoke to a person about their specific needs and she sources local independent places.

Planning a holiday for someone, takes time and effort so if she was doing that and then someone just used her knowledge and booked the holiday independently then it’s a shitty thing to do.

Plus they would pay more as the hotel, transfers wouldn’t be at the discount price. Using an independent travel agent is priceless as if anything goes wrong, you phone them up and they sort it - they take the hassle off you.

They also have a wealth of knowledge about the places you are going. They have local contacts they deal with, who know the area.

If you go into a travel agents on the street then they’ll be going off the internet, so you might as well do it yourself.

If you’re going to a standard place like Benidorm then I’d say do it yourself - if you want something that feels unique and off the beaten track, exploring an area you’ve never been to, then an independent travel company is perfect for you.

Use “Holiday Pirates” you might find some good deals if you’re flexible or able to go last minute x

Just put it together yourself - find accommodation you like and flights that work and just buy them. If you want a taxi from the airport then book that. Problem solved.

I always use an independent travel agent. He has put together packages for me that it would have taken me days to arrange on my own, or have been impossible. He is also great at booking me local flights to cruises and long haul destinations rather than me going via Gatwick or Heathrow.

We just had 11 nights B&B in Corfu with TUI for £1,173 for us both. £106 per night including good flight times, transfers and B&B, next to the beach. If that can be beat we're in.
