Looks like a air India plane has crashed

AI 171 Ahmedabad heading towards London Gatwick

Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner…. 242 on board

Looks like the plane got off the ground for a few seconds before losing height..

Looks horrific

That's the first I've heard of it, not much coverage on the TV. Just googled it.

Very sad news. I know someone who flew home on that route but in the opposite direction just last weekend so I'm glad she is safe.

38-year-old Ramesh Vishwaskumar, who was sitting on seat number 11A, is now reportedly the only survivor of the Air India plane crash.

According to reports, he saved his life by jumping from the emergency exit. Videos of circulating online walking upto an ambulance.

"They are saying pilot still had the flaps down as he took off "
Watching the video that is not true. As for "still",the flaps would have to been up for take off. For me it looks like the engines are off and flaps flat. Maybe trying to glide to clear built up area but at that height not much chance.

Actually this is the first Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner to crash….

The other thing is, if they find out it’s something mechanical or electrical and they need to ground them to check…. It’s the most popular wide body plane flying!

It will affect everything mid to long range worldwide out there!

Yes,after jumping out an emergency exit at 200ft and 200mph and landing within the vicinity of the explosion /aftermath as it was reported he was "scorched",little more than a limp.Sounds likely to me lol

I don't know where you got your details from but the poor guy has lost his brother, in the next seat. He deserves our best wishes and it's great that there's a survivor from this awful tragedy.

Wrong bodies are being sent to loved ones. Receiving the wrong remains is a whole new level of incompetence by Indian government. No one should have to deal with this. Ultimate bureaucratic failures of prime minister Modi led BJP government.
