Are you a problem solver?

From the land of haribos.

I am a problem solver and I dont wanna give up straigt away just because I failed as solving it as it was difficult, but I would rather think outside of the box and try to find a solution for it.

It would be interesting to see what kind of person you are, do you give up straight away or are you like me and would think outside of the box to try and find a solution for it?

Im 100% the problem solver at work and in life. Love a little mental acrobatics and I have realised that even the know-it -all's come to me to consult or solve.lovw a good problem and even more so a good solution.

Sadly, when the problem is people, its not always possible to solve.

Indeed … I hope I am a problem solver … work wise after years it’s lovely to really be able to do 99% of anything then research that 1%

I don’t give in easy , i love practical solutions so definitely up for a desert island experience ! ( with a fab friend of course )

I’m definitely a problem solver OP. It would be lovely sometimes not to have so many problems to solve though. But it is what it is 😘

your wildest dreams,

Definitely a problem solver. But I think a lot of that comes down to stubbornness, never wanting to give in, knowing there is a solution

Even though I’m more creative than analytical I do get paid to solve problems which for me is quite difficult, in order to solve problems and present ways forward I have to “think” a lot…

Meditation is my key to unlocking problem solving. That and coffee… lots of coffee…

It depends what the problem is and the potential benefits of solving it.

Some problems aren't solveable and some aren't worth the time and effort to do so.

Therefore if a problem can be solved and it's worth doing then I will.

By nature I'm the sort that jumps in and solves an issue while everyone else is standing about debating the best way to go about it.

That is generally a good trait to have but having spent many years as part of a search and rescue team it's not something that translates well in a life and death situation.

Finding a way around the problem has to be much more methodical and considered so as not to exacerbate the issue.

Solving problems is part of my job, my team is the Business Development and Service Improvement Team. But I think I'm a mix of both analytical and creative. I think you need both to be able to solve problems and "think outside the box" and all the other clichés. If you're too rigid and rules based, you're less likely to take risks and may miss opportunities to change things for the better.

I did a swift water training course years ago and after 2 really full on days the instructor set us a challenge.

He jumped into the river, swam across and sat on the opposite bank while telling us to come up with a safe plan of rescue.

We were fully focused on everything we had been taught and decided on what we thought was the best and safest method of getting him back.

Within minutes we realised the river was too wide and too deep for what we intended to do because our training only allowed us to work at wading depth.

15 minutes later he called a halt and said he would show us the safest way for him to get back. He walked along the bank for 200 yards and crossed a footbridge.

We were so tuned in to following his advice and instruction over the previous days that we hadn't even considered just walking across.

That taught me that very often the simplest solution is often the best and so many people make hard work of simple problems.

I use a similar tactic when I’m running training courses as well. We get so focussed on putting what we have learned in the course into practice that we forget everything else we know.

Personally, I like to think that I am good at solving problems, it is part of my job. That said, it is always easier to solve someone’s problem, less so dealing with your own 🤷🏻‍♀️

I was a classic problem solver / solutions person in work but have found creativity in later life a much better approach. Most problems are easily solved with the right tool and approach but creating things is far more interesting

I'm really stubborn and if there's a problem I won't give up until I've either solved it or destroyed it.

The trouble is I like creating problems in order to solve them.
