I pride my self on my honesty but sometimes i wonder should i be as honest as i am?

Im at college studying an electrical abd emectronic engineering course and im in a group of mixed age from 18 - 32ish.

I heard a couple if the younger lads talking and the topic was one guy was wanting to have a baby with his gf (17 year old and also in college). Aparently their parents were happy for them and encouraging them. As soon as he told me my initial reaction and words were "you frigging idiot are you stupid?" Followed my many repetions of similar sentences. This lad seemed deadly serious and set on it!

He is 19 no job, struggles massively to do this course (which upon finishing leaves two options uni for a degree or uni to do hnc) and only two weeks ago he was wondering how to bin this lass off!!!!

Should i have gave him my honest and blunt opinion that i thought he was a damn right idiot that he and his girlfriend were even contemplating having a child never mind actively trying or should i have just let him make IMO make a huge mistake?

leave the lad alone is my opinion...

some people can surprise u, when it comes to having kids...and that can be for the better

anyway..I wouldnt really want some guy who just happens to be around me telling me I'm an idiot

and remember some guys talk pish...'ready to ditch the gf' talk is pretty commonplace amongst many young folk...probably especially guys as they dont like appearing soft n under the thumb

"Your entitled to your own opinion, i wouldnt worry about it too much "

Theres a bit of a difference between giving an opinion when its asked for, and butting into a conversation and giving it!

In a crisp poke on the A814

My son was 18 when he had my grandson...

Was I happy and encouraging?? NO!!

Did I show my disappointment and tell them they were idiots? NO!!

I bit my tongue and let them get on with their own lives....

I have 2 lovely grandchildren now thanx to my son...and im proud of both parents and how they have coped with it...

Both working and in their own home...

Cant see where it says in the OP's post that he butted in lol? He said he gave his opinion once the guy told him.

Never butted in at all, the conversation was going on and the idea was put to me which is why i gave my opinion

Totally understand where youre coming from until the last paragraph. The lad cheats and theyre constantly breaking up with each other.
