The lockdown after effects

The lockdowns had many and varied effects on people, on many levels, from food and cooking, hobbies, interests, habits, sexual attitudes, exploration and even toy collections.

What changes are you aware of that originated or changed due to the lockdowns.

Be as naughty or vanilla as you like.

No great revelations but do I think I found more of an enjoyment for the more sensual side of sex, especially as I generally play on the kinky side, it changed my dominant behaviour only slightly but still a noticeable difference. The fun from long drawn out sessions of teasing, edging and sensory play was beyond words. Something I think more people should at least experience once.

I also think that in general, some people have become a lot more honest and even selfish in their approach to sex and searching for what they desire. Not a bad thing in any way for someone to know they're mind and to want what they want. I just think it sometimes plays in to the new ghosting trend that absolutely boils my piss if I'm being completely honest.

And I have struggled paying pub prices ever since and the shorts are weaker than at home. 🤣🤣

Think we spent a lot of time exploring teasing etc and long days in bed

Been married 25 years but definitely found some new go to things over the lockdown

And not always full sex etc ranges from just cuddling to touching teasing etc

Yeah, the lock down experience can vary massively and fair play to those that worked through it all. I'll admit I didn't work through the first but did after that.

High prices! I don’t think many people realise that during lockdown several businesses changed their business models from “high volume, low margin” to “low volume, high margin” to compensate for lower footfall.

And now that footfall is back to normal they still haven’t lowered the prices back. So they’re getting the best of both worlds and we’re getting ripped off.

It does my nut in.

Same here with the sensual side of it, so much pleasure from just enjoying each other and like you've said, often without the typical physical sex.

So you guys are in a good place by the sound of it, it's good to hear.

Yeah, it's so wrong that people did and still do benefit from an event that affected so many people much. I know the world we live in is fickle, that memories ares hort and people are easily distracted, but, I do hope that one day, people are held to account for some of the ruthlessness shown during that time. We truly witnessed the very best and very worst of people all at once.

I no was lucky to have the option too mate with being self employed, I had mates who are also in building trade who just took the 2 grand a month or whatever it was and stayed in the house despite having work they could have done. I’d go crazy not working so feel for anyone who had no choice

covid was actuslly good for me as people being stuck in their property started thinking more about their gardens so was even more busy than usual

Lockdown made me want to determined to completely bin the shitty life I had during it and try to find something better.

I would’ve loved to have worked through Covid but sadly got laid off 2 weeks before lockdown so couldn’t even get furloughed. The rest of it was crap. Apart from the weather which was beautiful - When I had time to enjoy it away from caring for absolutely everyone around me - none of whom ultimately gave a shit.

It made me realise I was very very strong. And I’m glad of that 🌈

This is what lockdown resulted in, clueless people who refer to people as sheeple with ludicrous claims, the irony being they are the one's following a herd of conspiracy theory loonies hell bent on disruption, anti establishment bandwagon and trying to get attention to their YouTube channels to make money by targeting the hard of thinking.

The rise of the conspiracy theory experts, with no expertise apart from quoting sources buried deep in the internet claiming to know "the truth".

Honestly you couldn't make it up, it'd make a good episode for The X Files.

And as already said it's insulting and disrespectful to people who died, lost people or in fact seriously ill themselves... like myself.

La la land

Lockdown impacted everyone regardless of if you worked or not. Shopping, socialising with friends and family, being able to go to the gym etc.

The biggest impact I saw was on my children, as they were late primary school age. They missed out on so much bless them. School trips away at camps etc, things that I remember at my old age. Things like getting up to mischief and learning about the world, they're catching up but can see the impacts it has had on their formative years.

The rich got richer!

The UK government’s total fiscal response to the COVID-19 pandemic—including both direct spending and increased borrowing—was estimated to be between £310 billion and £410 billion. This equates to approximately £4,600 to £6,100 per person in the UK.

So a family of four would have benefited by approx £20k if that was distributed evenly. All that money went somewhere. The wealth gap between rich and poor grew.

It’s estimated the wealth gap between the richest and average households increased by £44,000 during the crisis.

Absolutely! I live alone and didn't have anyone to form a bubble with, so I was totally isolated during lockdown. I was a really sociable person and struggled so much to adjust to that isolation, and I went to some very dark places.

But once we were able to socialise again I became very socially anxious. And to an extent I still am even now. It can take me days to psych myself up to go to a social event, and there are times I've got there and turned around right at the door. But equally, sometimes the thought of a weekend at home on my own brings back memories of those lockdown dark days and I'll find every excuse to delay going home after a fun time away from home.

I noticed that I've tried to be more outgoing. Before lockdown, I thought I was happy keeping myself to myself and using my weekends to stay in. But it's almost like the constant of being in doors made me want to change that. So meeting up more with friends, looking at local events, going abroad more. I think it's really helped my social confidence too and taught me that maybe I'm not the introvert I thought I was

The after effects .. For the majority, I'd say people are doing what they are doing with similar groups they were doing it with.

There was a period where people realised the value of people and systems, how much they were spending on disposable goods, consumables, noticing improved air quality, better seas etc this has passed by to a more live for the now idea.

I'd say as Governments money has run out and systems need modernising, generally I'd say people have extended a twitter type expectant culture, have either short fuses or over-share expecting the same, everyone is on Shein buying polyester tat sending it to landfill, doing the pre covid merry-go-round.

I might be one of the rare ones, I actually enjoyed the lockdown.

I lived alone anyway so there was no change there, but but I noticed was it was great going out for walks with My Dog or should I say him taking me for a walk, sitting in my back garden listening to music and drinking cans, bought my first couple of toys And best of all I managed to save a few euros which before the lockdown, I just had enough enough for each week but since that, I’ve always been ahead when going on the beer for example, when I come off it it might be months before I go on it again but I have saved up For that by then, and don’t know about the rest of the world but where I am the weather can be dodgy, it was quite lovely that time

The only differences i noticed was less traffic and being able to walk to the front of the queue in Tesco. I went to work and the gym as normal. Visited family as normal.
