Hi guys!

Like to introduce myself, I'm Taylor 33 from Manchester. No stranger to Mental Health & no stranger to speaking about it and being a big advocate for it.

I am 6 years sober, (from pain pill addiction) I am a single father of 4 outstanding & beautiful children.

Nice to meet you 🤝

Legend opiates are a real shitter to kick.

I'm raging ADHD and all the mental health trimmings but that's just life now, I can't complain having survived 42 years with basically no guidance or support for it.

Good morning OP and Happy Friday. Congratulations and well done on being sober! It’s takes a lot of effort and mental fortitude to achieve what you have so keep it up.

We all go through some mental challenges throughout our lives and some manage it better than others but remember you are not alone and there’s help available.

Hello OP and Hello all.

I’m Steve. Big mental health advocate. Diagnosed anxiety and depression; on citalopram for a few years now and sertraline before that. Recently diagnosed ADHD which has been interesting and Dad to a daughter with ASD.

Currently just realising that actually mental health is a fucking pain in the bum and makes me a not so fun friend/ partner.

Good morning brother,

Thank-you for the kind words, much respected and appreciated. This forum is to big up everyone, who goes through their battles and to let them know, someone will always be there willing to listen & help if possible.

Have a top day mate 🤝

Hi Steve,

Nice to meet you 🤝

Having a diagnosis, isn't a bad thing. It can make you work on yourself, your surroundings and everyday life. I am on medication myself, it's nothing to be ashamed of.

Keep on fighting mate, hope yourself, your beautiful family are OK 🤝

Alex...

Suffered with depression pretty much all my life.

Pretty sure now it's cPTSD and I am no longer able to work.

There are good days and bad days.

Well done to all those brave enough to talk about their mental health and to seek help. There still seems to be a stigma around the subject and I know personally it took me a long time to open up and seek help. That was 18 years ago. My mental health problems still persist and currently I find myself in a very tough place. But I take it one day at a time and hang on to all those little victories.

To those that don't suffer, it can be hard to explain the agony, pain and torment you experience. I once said to someone that I'd rather have someone smash my legs up with a baseball bat than suffer with severe depression; because you know there are pain killers that will take away the pain, you know doctors will set your broken legs, people will sympathise with you because they can see what you are going through and you know that within a set time you will be up and walking again. With mental health problems you have none of this and the hardest part is not seeing an end. Whether you consider this a crass analogy or not, I hope it does show the severity mental health problems can cause.

So if you are suffering in silence, please speak to someone. It takes courage, I know, but you do not need to go through this alone. This goes for both men and women.

Honestly EVERYONE commenting in here, please give yourselves a massive pat on the backs.

And I've had a lot of messages, privately also. And I know people are still scared to talk about their Mental Health, I'll leave you with this.

Being able to talk about your Mental Health, doesn't make you any stronger or weaker than those who can't.

Just know if I am here, someone wants to share their stories I am all ears.

Respect to all, I'm proud of you survivors 🤝
