If someone's voice is very different to how you imagined how much does it put you off?

I was thinking about this whilst listening to Skin's memoirs. Her reading voice is very different from what I expected from this amazing vocal powerhouse.

I often wonder this… my voice is never what people expect. It has definitely shocked a lot of people as it is very quiet and husky… I have even been asked if I’m lying about being a non smoker etc after hearing it

I have never been put off by a voice yet to be honest

There's been a few times where I've been surprised but it's never put me off someone. I find it worse with fiction. Like if I'm reading a book I'll imagine the perfect voice for a character and when it gets adapted I think wtf you don't sound like that.

An accent is always nice but what they say and the rate they speak at is better for my ears. I had a gf that could say so much with so few words it was amazing. Some people have a great ability to capture attention very casually.

Depends . Is there attraction , chemistry ? Each person is different . So to be put of by voice may be a mistake. Similar to finding someone attractive. Others would think not ?

Sometimes. I'm quite bad at guessing what people sound like; most of the time they have a nice enough voice. One I like to listen to. On the rare occasion someone will have a voice that will instantly make me melt. Or dry up.

I can’t say one has ever put me off people seem seem to sound when first meet vs when known them a while, I e we oukfnt really be put off unless it’s the croaky I’ve smoked 500 tabs a day for the last 90 years voice thst sone long time heavy smokers seem to get
