I regret giving 15 years of my life to my ex, it’s not that simple though as I got two wonderful children out of it, one who lives with me full time and the other lives with me now 8 days out of 14 and plans to live with me when she leaves school. If there was a way to change her and keep everything else the same I’d do it in a heartbeat I always wanted my kids to have a proper family all of their lives not just as young kids and consider it a massive failure the fact that is not the case

Deep I know ha sorry

Probably my only major regret is only having 3 kids. It’s quite sad but every year older I get I regret it more and feel it slowly going out of reach 😭😭

I don’t have many but I would probably have had less of an age gap between my children. I was always too sensible and didn’t because we couldn’t afford it. We’d have probably managed , everyone else seemed to!

Also smoking.

Trying to be normal. Thinking "Haha let's see how bad it can get" to an obvious dumpster fire of red flags while in a very self destructive spiral.

Both of them I knew I knew better. But I did the stupid thing anyway.

Anything else was an actual learning experience even if it sucked 💜

I can’t help think life might have been more fulfilling if I’d been straight.

I feel you pain mate, but you surround your children with love and be the best father you can be and they will (trust me) love you eternally.

"I regret (we both do) not moving to mainland Europe when we were younger and it was easy. "

Who knows though, if we had I might have been answering this as

'moving to mainland Europe when we were younger'

That's the thing with regrets you don't know how things would have worked out otherwise

My first thought was not trying harder to keep in contact with people. School friends, uni friends, that sort of thing.

But actually, I only really regret that I didn't try harder with my brother. He's my only family and I let my dad be our go-between for too long and for too much.

Selling our Billie Eilish tickets. I'm not even joking! I beat myself up daily about it. I should have just waited it out, and realise we could go. 🤦‍♀️

I'd change the night I ignored my (very early) curfew to stay out with friends, when I was 17. I should have gone home.

I don't look back with regret

It's a sure fire way to beat yourself up over a thing that happened, generally in the past

What you did shaped you, made you (sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse), but it's happened and you make things work for you and with what you've got, including the inevitable baggage

That said, I wish that 30 years ago, a place like Fab had existed

I do think my life would have taken a sliding door rather than a revolving one

Probably not travelling or making more of my life in my early 20s. I felt so career focused with the drive to try and save as much much as I could that I see younger people out nowadays and sort of envy them because of some kind of lost youth.

"My only regret is never learn ing to drive "

It's not the pleasure it once was especially in the south east. The roads are crowded, parking is an expensive nightmare, other road users see driving as a secondary occupation to the main one of chatting to their passenger or listening to a podcast on bloomin headphones and that's before you get into fuel costs and vehicle maintenance

Nowt. Like everyone, I've made some questionable decisions in the past, been thoughtless and selfish at times, but it's all been a learning opportunity and I hope I'm a better person for it.

The one thing I do feel consistently bad about is passing my wonky autism genes onto my son, as he's really suffered through his teenage years. I know technically it's not my fault, I didn't know I was autistic until he was 10, but still. Fortunately, he's having a much better time of it now.

So you've still not forgiven her after 15 years? That's a lot of thinking time wasted isn't it? Try thinking of it, rather than a bad relationship, a good one that didn't last. Accept your part in its failure, and in time you will realise that you don't need to forgive her because there is nothing to forgive her for.....

couple, us we him her.

A few but difficult to regret choices that have given me almost 40 years together with my beautiful wife and two fantastic children and grandchildren as a result.

Career choices, yeah.

Bad financial choices DEFINITELY.

But if I could pinpoint one regret.

I wish I'd studied harder at school and taken more notice, instead of being the class clown and spending more time sitting outside various headteachers offices than sitting in class, doing my homework and asking more questions.

Having the confidence to speak up and explain that I didn't understand not realising that I had dyslexia and discalulia resulting in English and mainly maths basically feeling like another language that I could work out.

Being forced by my mother to sit for hours and hours copying pages and pages from Charles Dickens and shakespeare in order to improve my writing and spelling it always ended up looking like a illegible mess no matter how hard I tried.

So yeah I regret that part of my life.

From a life perspective 18-40 age range I regret not making more friends and been more social like going out to pub , clubs , parties.Perhaps if I had I would have had some friends and maybe someone special in my life. From a work perspective not really trying hard enough to go for promotion. Now 24 years later I am in the lowest grade possible whilst some colleagues are one or two grades higher than me who are not better than me.All my fault guess I am one of life’s losers.
