They are not able to predict the future but they do enable you to influence it.

When it comes to belief I tend to think in terms of Popper's concept of Falsifiability. If something can't be tested then it can't be considered empirically verifiable or therefore reliable. Popper would refer to this as a non-scientific hypothesis or question.

I look at it quite simply as something that can't be reliably proven, but that doesn't necessarily mean it has no value. I wouldn't rely upon the outcomes, let's put it that way. It can be interesting though, and if it's enjoyable then why not do ngage with it?

Why not? I mean unless deep down there's a belief that it may be real and you are messing with supernatural forces 😁. We wouldn't want to open a gateway and summon a demon now would we? 😈

I always find when I read things about pisceans I can relate to around 50% of the traits because they are vague as hell. It's easy for people to see or two things that resonate and think "gosh, yes, that's SO me!"

But I'm a total sceptic. Especially when it comes to horoscopes for the week ahead. Vaguest that vague could be

The NHS offers acupuncture. A musculoskeletal consultant and a physio both treated me with it

I'll go to palm readings etc with people for fun but that's how I see it.... entertainment , like magicians and magic and illusionists.

Yes Leo and Granny, I think that's the thing. It can be seen as a bit of good fun, going to see a fortune teller etc as an act or a show if you're aware enough to realise it is all an act.

But it's when it tips over into taking advantage/fleecing vulnerable and desperate people that it becomes an issue in those cases.

It's a fine line too between someone seeking reassurances and comfort from these things in a harmless way, and those duplicitous charlatans who use desperate people as cash cows.

No but without them how many horror films would we have?

Also, they may trigger you to think about things in a different way which might be helpful - interpreting cards for example forcing your mind to take different paths rather than getting stuck on the usual ones. They could also become a self fulfilling prophecy. And if they do...does that mean they were kind of accurate?

The thing I find about star sign traits is that they are all positive. They are things like adventurous, studious, kind, focused etc. They are all things people aspire to being. When people read them they are more disposed to see themselves as those things and conclude there is something in it.

If one of the descriptions was "an utter piece of dog turd" then the person surrounded by crystals is much less likely to say "that's soooo me, darling".
