Do you enjoy having time on your own? Does that bring you joy and energy? Or do you prefer to be around others

I like a balance of both. I’m naturally gregarious but find spending time alone is a good discipline even when I’m craving company.

I need my own space.

Not in a horrible way. I’ll ride a bike, cut the grass, read a book, just a head clear for me

In the west.

I need my own company on a daily basis and I go solo travelling once or twice per year. It is good for me. The solo travelling is my selfish time.

I need my own space. I have a low social battery. I enjoy socialising in short bursts. I am very happy in my own company much of the time and I always need time on my own to "decompress" after a big social event.

That doesn't mean I don't enjoy socialising, I do when I'm in the mood, I just don't want to be surrounded by people every day.

Brum - ish

Yes. As an introvert, much as I enjoy social time, I very much need time to myself afterwards.

It’s one reason I don’t enjoy doing things during the working week - I need quiet time afterwards and that pushes back going to bed at a reasonable time.

I am very much an introvert and being by myself is where I find peace...and only those that don't disturb that peace will be allowed in my company

Fluctuates, but I don't like being around too many others at the same time.

Right now I am enjoying learning Spanish again. Watching Muzzy with a Burger before I get a shower and go to work.

I live alone and work alone, I also go on holiday alone. Human company is ok in small doses but I am happier when it is just me and my dogs.

I need both. Not having alone time regularly makes me ill. I absolutely need it to recharge, and I really enjoy my own company. Too much alone time makes me bored and sad, though.

I've got dogs who would eat the cats! Maybe one day when the dogs have gone.

I thoroughly appreciate my own space and time alone. And having that boosts how much I enjoy having company when I choose to 💜

"I thoroughly appreciate my own space and time alone. And having that boosts how much I enjoy having company when I choose to 💜"

This. 💯

Living alone means I can do (or not do) what I want, when I want.

Want to slob on the sofa all day binging Netflix and avoiding housework? All good. The mess doesn't affect anyone else. And it's all down to me. I'm not having to tidy ip after someone else, nor work around their schedules, wants and moods.

Nobody is going to complain that I've sat in my oodie all day, haven't got dressed or left the flat at all. No-one is going to moan about what I choose to cook. There's no arguments about leaving the loo seat up either. 🤷‍♂️

Sometimes I wish I had a dog again, but after a long while without I enjoy the freedom of being able to go away for days should I choose and work long hours without stressing about doggy daycare.

And I still get plenty of socialising and company. Those times are much more enjoyable because they're not constant. I couldn't live with anyone else again.

Here, There & Everywhere

I'm more than happy in my own company, but I spend far too much time at home alone because of social anxiety. Having one or two people over now and again is ok. I just need to work out how to start going out socially again 😱

I love being solo ... spending time in my own space, going out for the day, walking the dogs, cinema, holidays etc

Also love spending time with my kids and close friends.

And very occasionally a few hours with a sexual partner.

Life feels peaceful and content being intentionally solo.

I love being on my own. I don’t think I trust anyone that doesn’t feel comfortable to be by themselves.

I find being too much on my own doesn’t do me any favours though. I get too in my own head so I need good people around me to balance out solitude with some socialising.

I work alone 95% of the time, apart from the odd customers about, so used to my own company, find it strange when I’m working with someone else now x

I've not been on my own for the best part of 30 years so am having to learn what that looks like for me. I'm enjoying the independence of being able to do what I want when I want. I do still have a teenager at home so it's not total independence yet but I'm hoping to get better at enjoying my own company. I've started an acting class and am taking myself to the cinema and theatre on my own.

This is the same for me and i think for most introverts, socialising is draining. I'm ok for a few hours but i can't wait to get home and feel a relief when i'm back.
