"I loved one called 'Little Sir Echo' (although I thought it was little Sirecco at the time) My mum used to teach us lovely little songs like this (and the gilly gilly ossenfeffer one) and I taught my kids - who are now teaching THEIR kids. I love that kind of continuity - those songs and rhymes are like little heirlooms " you are my sunshine is one that will go through our children and our childrens children. My nan used to sing it to us all and then to her great grand children as well. It was played at her funeral and everyone sang along. | |||
