Do men still wet shave?

I've not wet shaved or shall I say trimmed in like 10 years, if the razor is dull I just get a new replacement head.

What's your reason behind wet shaving?

I do. Mainly because I don't feel electric razors cut close enough - I just don't get on with them.

Plus, it's part of a face wash, exfoliate, shave, moisturise routine now.

I don't look 44 years of age for nothing.

I've only ever wet shaved - and I enjoy it. It's a ritualistic experience for me.

I don't particular like the intense 'heat dissipation' on my face from an electric shaver and nor does it give me a close enough shave. Overall it's pretty ineffective.

A wet shaved gives me the closest shave possible as well as exfoliating my face in the process. My face feels thoroughly cleansed.

In the west.

I wet shave every morning as it is a closer shave. If I go more than 24 hours I can feel and hear the difference.

Never got used to electric, I find them just as uncomfortable. wet shave is more hassle but it's better for your skin & the end result is better.

If you want a lady to run her fingers across your face, you want it wet shaved.

I mean, I can but it's patchy as hell. I won't lie, having an overly hairy body is the one Indian trait I'm glad I didn't inherit 😂

I can't either. It's a stubble mostly on my chin.

I wet shave occasionally but mainly electric and trim to stubble. If I wet shave I have a proper razor with razor blades no safety, Gillette bs. You have to keep the blade straight but it's so smooth after. Plus loads cheaper than the safety stuff. I've got proper Clint Eastwood stubble though so needs to be up to the job

I went shave with a DE razor and shaving cream.

The type you whip up in a bowl. I find it very relaxing to do, until I cut myself haha

I've only ever wet-shaved.

I did try dry shaving once and it felt horrible and my skin erupted in spots.

Put me off completely.

So I wet shave with an electric razor and sensitive cream or oil.

I do three passes, then rinse the head under a running tap of hot water, then 3 more passes, etc.

At the end, I lather/oil and then use a razoer with a blade for a final close shave. Then rinse it all off and dry carefully.

If I shave I do wet shave.

Electric razors just don't cut close enough and a wet shave feels nicer.

Have quite a few Turkish barbers in Sheffield so if I fancy a bit of a pamper I'll book in for a hot towel and straight razor shave.

I wet shave every 2-3 days.

I've tried electric shavers including branded Phillips ones back in the day and they just don't work. My stubble is like wire when it's dry and electric shavers snag and pull it out rather than cut it.

In fact I can't use cartridge razors either like the Gillette Mach 10 (or whatever number they're up to now). If I try to use a wet razor that has more than one blade the hair gets caught between the blades and will not rinse out from them. After the first stroke it's like I'm running a strip of barbed wire down my face.

I've found only a proper double-edged razor used in conjunction with a shaving brush and shaving foam (shaving gel is a poor substitute) works. I have one clean-shaven day, one day of light stubble, one day of heavy stubble then it's time to shave again before I look too scruffy.

The ironic thing is I'm pretty much bald on top.

Yep. When I do shave I go all in with a very nice steel Merkur double edged razor with Japanese Feather blades and a silver tip badger hair shaving brush with Taylor's of Bond Street shaving soap.

My facial hair is so coarse that it will blunt a disposable razor blade about half way through a shave.
