Losing the ability to spell

I'm blaming my phone for this.

I used to be a very good speller and could remember many words,but

recently, when I had to do a fair bit of actual writing with pen on paper, I found myself struggling to spell some words that I would consider quite basic.

I forgave myself for some of the ballet terms and the fact I was very tired at times.

Do any of you feel that technology is dulling your brain?

I actually find technology has helped me in terms of spelling, definitions etc. but I completely see how it could be negative for some and your experience does make perfect sense BN. I love writing with pen and paper and do so often though so I think that helps.

Holy shit, just checked out your profile.

Now, about the juicy butts and kissing part..... I have questions.

Well, one question.

The obvious question.

Tongue or no tongue?

Want a pen pal? I love a bit of embossed or decorative stationery.

See now, my phone gave me the option of stationery and stationary after I typed station.

If I turned off that function I think I'd be Googling a lot.

Yes. I think technology has a lot to answer for, sometimes.

Best way to remember the station(A/E)ry spelling:

StationAry = cAr 🚗

StationEry = pEn 🖊

Abbreviations, and short messaging didn't help. Shortening words and replacing words with numbers...

But hey... we struggle on, right?!

American using the stars and stripes to represent England/English is absolutely not helping.

Quebecs don't use their flags, provincial or national to represent French, they use the French flag.

Muscle memory when it comes to tapping, is different when it comes to scrolling a pen, as writing is more complicated than typing.

All over

For me is just the typos mainly. I make lots of them and don't check before pressing go

On spelling, I do think technology can help if used correctly but mostly it isn't and sadly lots of young people can hardly spell their name.

I find reading lots helps with spelling and word usage, also doing a crossword once or twice a week helps . I sometimes look up a definition of a word that's appeared and I've spelt correctly but not used.
