When do you consider you’re safe or comfortable enough to meet someone off the internet albeit for a social or a meet for sex?

Do you tell someone where you’re going?

So many clever wordsmiths on the internet and in life so what, if any, procedures do you put in place to make sure you’re safe before a meet or during a meet?

For a first time social it will always be in a public place. I have a fab wing woman who I tell all the social/meet details to; who I’m meeting, where, when and any plans. We check in with each other and I let her know when I am safely home. She is versed for if I need a “get out of this situation” call, or who to call/what to do if she doesn’t hear from me. I also tend to meet on neutral ground until I really trust a person so wouldn’t just go round to their house for instance.

Ends

For a social I’m open to meeting pretty soon. Within days even as long as it’s in a public place. I always share location with my partner through Find my iPhone anyway.

I’m a pretty good judge of character, I can tell by the 2nd meet if I want to spend alone time with them.

I do have somebody that knows where I’m going & the persons details if I don’t return

I’m lucky because my husband is a far better judge of character than I am so that helps.

I’ve done a couple of solo socials in a public place and always with my husband on standby locally in case things are uncomfortable xx

The litmus test for me is when there is consistency in their conversation and openness, and no glaringly obviously red flags, their willingness to share their phone number and Telegram, voice calls...

I always meet in a relatively busy place for a social such as a café or an eatery and always carry my drivers licence/photo ID. There was a time, in my early days on here, when I would also bring along my passport for the added reassurance, much to their amusement.

Definitely social in a public place for me.. daytime too, evenings don’t work and coffee shops allow more freedom towards the social

Cheeseville, Somerset

I'm happy to meet for a coffee/drink' natter whenever. Usually a Costa or a spoons or wherever they suggest.

I'm also happy for people who are friends of friends to come to mine.

I mean....what are the odds on two axe murderers being in the same place at the same time. 🤷‍♂️

It depends when. And I don't publicise my safety plans, as that's silly to give away your secrets. I involve public engagement, others and surveillance
