Until we have a hosepipe ban?

North Yorkshire is drier than the desert.

After losing our daughter’s pony last year, we put my horse out on loan.

I have to say, it’s been such a relief so far this year not having to worry about the state of the grazing due to the lack of rain!

Hopefully it will rain soon!

"It's to rain at the end of the week 🌨"

It keeps saying this then not showing. It really needs to rain. Properly rain.

I feel for the farmers. I was chatting to a local one when walking the dog and she said she’s had lambs that she’d sent to the abattoir that had never seen rain. Imagine that!

In the west.

If only there was some kind of water bank where it could be saved until it is needed. It was cold and wet here for nearly 18 months until the end of February and now they are running out.

I don't think they ever lift it in Kent. Feels like it's a permanent thing

There have been no new reservoirs built for more than 30 years. Despite an increasing (and anticipated) growth in population. But yay, privatisation.

That’s awful. We’ve got friends who are agricultural farmers and it’s hard for them but at least they don’t have the emotional side of animals to deal with

We pay for our water through the council tax, so in our case it’s probably under investment by successive governments.

The reservoirs here are almost dry despite a wet winter.
