Most of us know the saying, don't judge a book by it's cover, and its' meaning.

Do you make decisions based on very little information, or do you wait to build up a bigger picture and make a more informed choice?

Maybe its' a mixture, depending on the situation?

What causes you to make a snap decision?

Has that ever been proven to be unfounded?

And how has that affected your decision making since?

I do judge books by their covers. Or the summary on the back. Or the first line or paragraph or page. And if I don't like any of those things I decide in that moment not to read it.

There are whole teams dedicated to get those things right. And if those things aren't working for me it means the book isn't going to be for me.

Book covers, especially the Penguin classics are so eye catching. I go for reviews. Sometimes I’ll read book reviews online from the sensible newspapers.

Good question. We all make snap decisions we can't help it. It's whether you are prepared to go beyond that. Give the person a chance. If my gut tells me they are not a good person I will always listen to that.

Yes, I make judgements all the time about people. Sometimes I'm wrong but it happens fairly rarely and I trust myself.

As you said in the OP OP it's mixed and very much depends on the situation.

I'm a firm believer in the phrase "when someone shows you who they are believe them" though.

And apart from the very few really skill manipulators most people will show you a pretty good indication of themselves quickly

On fab? Yes. If something doesn’t sit right with me on the profile they could look like gods gift to women I’ll still delete.

In real life, yeah to an extent. Every now and again someone comes into my life that I’ll take an instant dislike to, could be a colleague or a friends new partner - anything. I’ve yet to be proven wrong on my gut instinct.

It depends on the situation. I might decide to buy a house based on very little information but once the survey has been done change my mind.

I have made snap decisions about a person based in nothing more than one conversation to be proved wrong later.

The odd occassion I do make snap decisions but usually weigh up lots of didlfferent stuff most totally nit superficial. Substance is important. The synopsis is ok but is just one dimension with others to be explored. I other words, I exercise caution but don't judge just by the cover

It depends what it is really. I will satisfy small decisions like what to have to eat at a restaurant, often not bothering to look at the menu

I nearly always follow my intuition on bigger decision-making, but I will always pause and consider consult with others, that I trust on those matters - I often find this more productive than researching myself.

If you slow down and become a self-aware, you can easily spot in media marketing and sales people. The types of tricks used to force you into emotionally based decision-making. It’s almost always rooted in fear, timelines, greed or comparing yourself to others
