After hitting 50 I’ve realised that there is a lesser demand for us older chaps in here. I’ve had some great times but I feel as if it’s came to an end for me on here and I should hang up my swinging pants.

This is just what I’ve been feeling the last few years of wilderness on here.

I think 50s on here are fine. I felt a bit like you when I hit 50 though I think Late 40s the best time for Mann on FAB and then of course you gonna hit a few more filters at 50, but there is plenty of demand still, it’s like anything you have to get good at using the platform, most guys complaining on here simply don’t know how it works

I had a similar feeling and tried one of those 'dating apps' it was so depressing, I had to delete it within 20 minutes.

The way I figure it, I've got two years left till I'm 50 and then I'm going to move to Vegas and bet everything I have on red at the Roulette wheel, once every day. The first day I lose I'm donating my body to medical science. If I win I'm going try and spend the winnings before tomorrow comes.

The OP is pondering 'retiring' at 50, whereas I have just joined at 57, new to the scene.

I'm definitely NOT expecting to shag my way through half the members, or possibly even any of them, but I've found liberated, non-judgemental folks here to chat to and have a laugh with, and in some cases enjoy some online fun. If that eventually leads to club nights or private meets for me then cool, if not, fine.

If the sole interest in Fab is to hook up with people for sex, then that surely gets harder as we age. just as it does in the vanilla world... But there's more to life than just fucking.

I'm always curious why so many think age is the reason they aren't having much luck?

I didn't join fab until I was 52 and I've been able to pick and choose who I wanted to meet without having to compromise.

My age has never once been a topic of conversation and it has never prevented me from chatting to women of a similar age.

I don't worry about being outside preferences and just focus on those I am compatible with.

Age is only a factor if you allow it to be.

There's plenty of us over 50 on here, so being older in itself doesn’t make meeting significantly less likely.

However, if you're feeling unhappy or negative that can feed into the way you interact. Anything in your messages or profile that comes as negative or needy, however unintentional, also might not be helping your cause.

Maybe give Fab a rest for a bit and try getting out with friends, or if you want try others ways of meeting, get yourself to socials and clubs.

I think OP is highlighting that a huge number of people have 50 as their upper age limit - it can be a pain seeing someone you fancy and you can’t message them. We are now in the 50’s age bracket and can see a shift in who looks at us.

However we’ve got a social arranged at a club Friday and a FFM arranged on Saturday and a social Monday.

If you let age define you then it will.

Really op. It seems to keep the old blokes get all the love, I've seen some gorgeous young girl on here, then you look at there verifications and they've only met old overweight blokes, it does make me think why bother trying to stay in shape.

It is annoying if your a year or two out of there age range, should fab allow a year or two either side of your set date?
