Have you ever received flowers on a fab date?

Which flowers do you like best? (You may receive some in your inbox!)

I have a couple of times, though not from forum users who've read of my love for botany and flowers.

I like most flowers. I'm disappointed that slugs or snails have eaten the flower spikes from a fairly rare bromeliad that suddenly shot up this week. I may have to split it, so I've got more than one of them!

I think it would be sort of weird to receive flowers at a fab date. Nice idea though.

Tulips are my favourite ❤️

No I haven’t

I’m a really cheap date when it comes to flowers, I love the humble Daffodil

I have and it was lovely.

It led to a very fulfilling 3 year friendship.

I don't think it's weird at all, shows good intentions.

My fav are irises but I like most to be honest.

Flowers either and die, I like a bunch occasionally but I prefer fake.

On a fab date I think I'd be a little freaked out with flowers if I'm honest.

On a date would be awkward imo, where do you put them?

I can count on one hand the amount of times anyone has bought be flowers. And they're all from my stepmother 🥲 Idk if it's age or what, but I quite like the idea of it now. But I'm already established as the woman who doesn't see the point in being bought flowers

People think I'm an alien when I say I prefer fake ones 🙈

Never gotten flowers, but a couple of them have turned up with cakes for us which is so much better.

Yes I have but it’s a very platonic friendship, but whenever we met for lunch there’d

always be flowers on the passenger seat of the car waiting for me

Yes I have, and it was a bit strange to suddenly be given a bouquet of flowers 💐 the first time of meeting someone.

land of make believe

Not at a first meeting, although later in our journey together.

I did also receive some bedding plants for someone, which was very welcome, however a little strange.

Bradford and Stockport

Several times after having talked and got to know somebody for several months (or longer!), if our first actual meeting is at their home, I have taken flowers or a house plant as a gift. It would be weird if it was someone unknown who had just put up a "meet now" an hour earlier, but these have been cases where it's actually been "I get to say hello to my friend! I'm gonna take them something nice!".

If a guy brought flowers to a meet I'd freak out.

I / we arrange swingers meets for recreational sex, not a date.

There will be no ongoing relationship, we may meet several times, but nothing will ever come of it.

We do take the odd gift to private parties as a token of our appreciation for arranging the party and inviting us into your home.

One party we attend sends out a list of different foods so each guest can choose one and bring it with them. Great way to save the host the time and expense of catering.

Just a heads up.

If I meet a guy, it's a swingers meet.

It will never, ever, ever be a date.

Hopefully, an enjoyable meet for all involved but that's it, no date, no future, no ties.

Bring yourself, not your baggage, angst or problems, leave them at home.

I have never received flowers on a fab date. I've received chocolate, cookies, a pebble with an owl painted on it, and a can of pink G&T.

Flowers on a first social/meet would feel a little much, tbh. From someone I know well, it would be lovely.

Anything seasonal. Gotta think of the environment.

No and I would like it's a bit creepy and weird to receive any kind of gift on a first meet.

I have received silly cheap gifts from people I have met over a period of time, like doughnuts, whipped cream that kind of thing.

All over

Not sure is the thibg to do really though I have given a small bunch of flowers to someone when we had a social meet for some coffee and cake as we had been discussing flowers etc before. Just a little hello thing, nothing more.

I meet so few and selective, I build up a lot of trust etc first. Therefore, for me flowers would be welcomed- I like bright colours; I love sunflowers, tulips and roses that have been dyed.❤️

Brum - ish

From someone on Fab, no. I’m not sure if that wouldn’t feel a bit much.

My favourite flowers are probably tulips and peonies. I like the look of lilies but not so keen on the pollen.

I don't think it's weird to bring flowers, what would be weird is if they asked you to slap your bum with them.

I have received flowers; I love flowers and they brought one of my favourites so I was touched they had listened to some of the more mundane things I’d been talking about 🍭

It would feel a bit weird carrying them around if you were going for a few drinks together
