So after browsing on the profiles that match my preferences I've noticed a lot of profiles whether singles or couples, looking for certain races, height or size that can not be filtered on fab unless you read each profile description individually. Would it be an improvement if fab had more filters like height, size, race etc or would that be considered discrimination? Everyone has their own preferences anyways, even if there's no option to filter, so that might help with searching.

I think the site is built from a software template that they can’t really tweak very much.

I think more search filters would definitely be advantageous but they won’t be added anytime soon, if at all.

I would love a location filter and to be able to block from messaging me if you are outside of my location preference.

My young sirrah, we are all looking for the utopian experience on here. Your idea is nice but I would prefer something more granular such as filters for "woman", "lady", "maiden", "damsel", "duchess", "siren" and "courtesan"...followed by additional filters for "chic", "urbane", "classy" and "upmarket".

That would stop some of the messages falling into my inbox from the retinue of bow-wows, brazen hussies, gothic-chicks and the boomtown rats.

Well even if that's the case I think they need to try and do something to improve that, there's just too many people on the site as it's getting more popular and everyone is looking for different things

Imagine?? It's a realism and the story of my life. It's called The Fåb Curse™.

At least you found someone right? You might have to travel 250 miles one way to meet, but that's why we have free will isn't it? Some might consider it

It's definitely essentially needed.

The greater the volume of people who need to be searched through and filtered, the more it becomes a necessary thing to automate the activity, if you don't want your users to despair/give up. This is particularly onerous on those searching through the biggest category here - searching the single men.

The site has the data - we've all added it, from day one. It's madness to not have system tools to be able to filter

I'm not a tech expert and have no clue whether it's difficult etc

I don't know how it works either but I feel like it's needed. Unless you block every profile you come across that you don't match or like but when you have 30k people online anytime you'll end up spending more time blocking profiles than looking.

I’ve been using this site (and the other one) for a fair few years now and there’s never been any changes to filters or search parameters. The only changes I’ve experienced personally are adding the forums and the chat rooms. I assume this happed due to the software owners adding that functionality.

In the site feedback forums the same things get asked for over and over but they never happen. Can only assume that’s because it’s not possible

Carlisle usually

There is an ethnicity option in the advanced search.

I wouldn't mind more search filters.

But, if the filters existed to only accept mail from men over 6ft and over 8 inches long you just know the volume of people who'll set their account to those numbers and then say they made a mistake and can't work out how to change it. Like the very many 30-50 profiles who are actually 20-70 but they know many people's filters will stop them from being able to message 💜

Well after reading that I don't think we can be too optimistic about it then..

That's so true, there's always someone trying to play the system. If we got men now impersonating couples profiles or the other sex I don't think adding a few inches to their height or package will stop them 😂

The more filters there were, the more people would just tweak their own profiles to maximise the chances of falling into others preferences.

It already happens with age, sexuality, height, body size etc. Any filter is only as useful as the data used to run it.

If people state what they want and are looking for in their profiles then that's great. If you don't match it then the block button is a very useful permanent filter to stop them coming up in your searches again.

Yes, better search parameters would be good. But what if you've fine tuned them as much as possible and have no responses from those you contact? You'll logically loosen them to bring up new results, otherwise you'd have to rely on waiting for new users who match, which could take a while and still offer no guarantees.

Personally I much prefer to just read what people have written. Does it take more time? Yes. But it means you've a much better idea about people, get a clearer insight into what they're seeking and there's a greater chance of finding potentially compatible people. But that of course relies on people putting effort into writing a profile and equally requires people to actually read them. And we all know how often that happens........🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

I don't think it's always dishonesty.

People judge their own bodies in different ways. Curvy means different things to many. Slim can be similar to athletic. Fabulous and average are pretty vague.

Many don't post exact locations and may knock a year or two off to distance the 'Fab' them from the real them, the same way many don't use real names.

Give me a clear photo that shows what someone really looks like over accurate words in a description any day of the week. I know what I'm attracted to and don't need 100% accurate data to tell me.
