Yup. "If you can't be honest you can't be nowt" was the mantra when I was growing up. I don't exactly detail my exploits unprovoked to family, but when a conversation has relevant context or a direct question is asked I don't have anything to hide.

I don't think I was ever perceived as normal enough to worry about coming out, this is just how I've always been 💜

I love this! I'd love to have that relationship with my family.

My mam would be mortified. She already believes I should be chained to the kitchen sink and not have a life. My step-dad would agree with her for the sake of not being able to think for himself or disagree with her.

I told my sister years ago, before we got married but I don't know if she still knows it's happening as we never talk about it. It's her hen party in a couple of months so it may come up then although I'm planning on staying sober enough to behave in front of her friends.

I don't think I could ever tell my mum, she wouldn't understand and I'm sure she would be disgusted.

My 19 year old son knows, we've always had an honest relationship so I couldn't keep part of my life from him. I told him when it was appropriate and he just said you do you as long as everyone is consenting. I hope to have the same relationship with my younger 2 but they are not at appropriate age yet but I hope they will react the same way.

My adult step kids have all known for years now. It was a hot topic of conversation for a while but it died down. They've either forgotten or don't care.

My cousin had a very negative reaction when I told her. Said some pretty hurtful things. But then asked questions and tried to understand. She sees how strong my husband and I are and is supportive.

I have 2 best friends who know, one wants details and the other ignores it. I was afraid I would lose the one who ignores it but I decided a long time ago that I cannot have people I love only knowing part of me. I won't hide any more. Thankfully I mean as much to her as she does to me and although it's something she doesn't understand or agree with I've been able to be honest with her and I respect her beliefs enough not to talk about it in front of her.

All in all telling those closest to me has been a positive experience, they are either supportive or just don't care. And I don't have to wotty about being seen, or anyone trying to out me.
