"I am currently looking for an espresso machine. So any recommendations would be appreciated. I currently either buy beans and grind them myself or buy ground coffee & use a French press or Italian Moka . I only only drink a hybrid of espresso & americano so it is easy for me. ☕️🩵" I've got a breville barista max plus and I love it I've upgraded the tamper and added accessories but it's awesome

James Hoffmann (you'll hear this name a lot!) has a good video about this if it helps. https://youtu.be/7HIGdYy5of4?si=5vJOHUEcHIAx7rmo

"I’m looking to get a coffee machine. Probably one of those pod ones as seems easier. Any recommendations? " Get one that takes Nespresso pods and use generic or reusable pods with it would be my recommendation. We've found a brand that's excellent and way cheaper than Nespresso itself.

"Can't stress the importance of decent water for coffee (and tea). For example...down South, hard water areas, ruins a drink. Up North here with this beautiful soft water, even a Nescaffe can taste splendid" I am in. The north although I do have a water filter too. 🩵

"Serious coffee enthusiast here. I’ve been to coffee plantations and the machine is absolutely secondary to the process. Choose your bean Choose your roast Grind Brew Enjoy The best coffee machine is the Aeropress. About £40 and is all you need. Perfect espresso and americano every time." How does this work when you have guests, or do you need to buy more than one? This could be a very inexpensive solution for me. ☕️🩵

In saying that, it’s so quick that you won’t be waiting around between cups… never had a problem.

"Coffee …. The life blood for me although I really have scaled down the caffeine. ! Get to the point …. I cannot believe how good McDonald’s coffee is. It’s always a surprise to me how good it is ! But it’s the only thing I buy, there … but it’s ok ! it’s out there !! I’ve said it" Agree on Maccy D coffee. It’s actually better than the more expensive chain cafes

"Don’t bother with a coffee machine! Get a coffee grinder and a cafetière. You can then explore all the different coffee regions and strength of roasts and how it changes flavour and acidity. I can also recommend a Jogo straw for when you are on the move. I’m a massive coffee snob and can’t abide by coffee machines. The quality of coffee is so poor. " A cafetière is so economical too- and good for the environment! What kind of beans are you guys brewing at the moment? I am stuck in a rut with bog standard supermarket Maya Gold… keen to try something more interesting but I am not into ultra dark roasts or acidic notes/flavours ![]()

What grinder do you use for your aeropress?" At the moment I’ve got two… a hand grinder and an inexpensive electric blade one, which is okay. I’m looking to get a burr grinder to replace a sage one I’ve had previously.
